If things had gone his way, Ali would possibly have won the WWE Championship and had one of the best storylines in recent years. Ali was set to get a gigantic push by Vince McMahon and co. earlier this year, which would have ended with him winning the WWE title at WrestleMania 35.
Injury robbed Ali of a match with Daniel Bryan, and Kofi Kingston was the Superstar who benefitted from the former 205 Live Superstar's injury.
Ali could very well get another opportunity at rising to the top which could happen with strong performances in the King of the Ring tournament. Ali could maybe go all the way and win the tournament, following in the footsteps of legends like Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H, who all won the tournament and went on to have legendary careers.
Although a feud with Kofi for the WWE Championship doesn't seem like it will happen as both are babyfaces, we could maybe see him feud for the Intercontinental title, and win it, which will be his first title in WWE.
Ali's good showing has opened up opportunities for other former 205 Live Superstars like Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy, and winning a title could pave the way further for these Superstars.
