WrestleMania 34 is almost upon us. In only a few days, New Orleans will be ablaze with glitz, glamour and fists as the men and women of WWE take center stage. We're certain that the event will be as dazzling as always. The question remains...who will host the proceedings?

Last year, The New Day did a commendable job as WrestleMania hosts. They did not participate in a match, to the dismay of millions, but they introduced the Hardy Boyz to a rousing ovation.

Who will don the mantle of WrestleMania host at WrestleMania 34? We pick 5 worthy contenders for the prestigious role.

Let us know in the comments below if you believe any of them will be the right pick.

#5 Trish Stratus, The Bellas, & Lita

The women who paved the path for the Women's Evolution of today!
The women who paved the path for the Women's Evolution of today!

2018 has been all about girl power. First, there was the Women's Royal Rumble and then, shortly afterwards, the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber Match. Who can forget the signing of the greatest female MMA star of all time- Ronda Rousey?

Wouldn't it make sense to have Trish Stratus and Lita start off WrestleMania 34, in keeping with the theme? Maybe the Bellas could join them too, to kick off the show into high gear. Not only are they world famous superstars, it would be a nice change of pace from usual WWE programming.

Trish Stratus, Lita and The Bellas proved during the Women's Royal Rumble that they're just as great now as they ever were in their prime. We're certain that the audience would love to see them return yet again.

Maybe they could have a little segment with a current heel squad, like Absolution or the Riott Squad, to give the youngsters a rub.

#4 Elias

This might be a better role for him than a multi-man match
This might be a better role for him than a multi-man match

The New Day were active competitors last year, and they were still the hosts of WrestleMania 33, were they not? A promising prospect in NXT, Elias has really grown into his own, on the main roster. He can control a crowd like few others can, and can make them go from cheers to jeers, in a mere instant. Imagine him messing with a WrestleMania crowd!

Few will have the capacity to convincingly interact with the audience. Elias is certainly someone who can have a great WrestleMania moment in this regard, without having to take a bump. He could also maybe have a great WrestleMania moment with someone like Jeff Jarrett, because of their similar gimmicks.

Whatever the case may be, Elias is a superstar with a promising future. In our estimation, he is guaranteed to hold the gold in the months that follow after WrestleMania 34.

Why call back a legend, when a future legend is in the current roster?

#3 The Rock

Maybe The Rock can introduce his greatest rival again
Maybe The Rock could introduce his greatest rival back to the WWE Universe

The Rock and Hulk Hogan had one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history. As it stands now, The Rock is the biggest movie star in the world. Hulk Hogan is at odds with the company, owing to a few racist remarks he'd made in a private video. Could The Rock reintroduce Hogan into the WWE?

Time does heal all wounds, and it is impossible to deny the kind of influence that Hulk Hogan has had on the product. The Rock could get the show off to an electrifying start, and have Hogan come in to make his apology.

The Rock and Hulk Hogan are two of the biggest icons in the sports entertainment industry. They are perhaps the first two names that come to mind when one thinks of WrestleMania.

Despite their misgivings about the Hogan scandal, WWE can't go wrong with this combination.

#2 Stone Cold Steve Austin

Imagine how cool it would be to see him stun Owens and Zayn!
Imagine how cool it would be to see him stun Owens and Zayn!

What better way to start off WrestleMania 34 than with the sound of breaking glass? Bear in mind that WrestleMania 34 will be exactly two decades since Stone Cold Steve Austin won his WWE Championship.

Kevin Owens has been public about his love and admiration for Stone Cold Steve Austin. We're certain that Sami Zayn probably feels the same way as well. Imagine if there was a verbal duel between the three men to kick off WrestleMania. How cool would it be, right?

Owens and Zayn are two men that can convincingly hang in with Stone Cold Steve Austin during a promo segment, without seeming completely out of their league. They wouldn't mind taking the stunners and becoming a part of WrestleMania history, in the process.

#1 Sting

This would be a great way to mark the end of the Icon's WWE career
This would be a great way to mark the end of the Icon's WWE career

Sting's WWE career did not pan out in the way he wanted it. To say that the fans were unhappy with his run would be the understatement of the millennium. He lost to Triple H at WrestleMania and went on to suffer an injury at Seth Rollins' hands, a few months later. He was then inducted into the Hall of Fame, where he retired.

Sting is still a draw, to this very day. It would be great to see him and host an event of this magnitude, before his adoring fans. Few will have a problem with this legend, setting WrestleMania in motion.

Maybe he could have a run-in with his greatest opponent, Ric Flair too. Imagine over 50000 people saying 'woo' in unison, with these men.
