So it turns out that in this instance, Steph was provoked into doing what she did. Who knew that was possible? Debra initiated the first slap during this backstage scuffle before McMahon retaliated with devastating effect. The two had an altercation that was soon broken up, however, it provided an interesting insight into a potential match between the women.
Of course, at times it felt like a watered down version of HHH vs. Stone Cold given the nature of their relationships, but somehow the Attitude Era turned it into something appealing. It showed that Debra wasn't going to allow herself to be pushed around, meanwhile, Stephanie proved that she more than happy to get her hands dirty when the situation required it.
Onto an option that saw Steph keep it in the family.
