5 surprise entrants we would love to see in the greatest royal rumble match

The Greatest Royal Rumble
History will be made at Jeddah!

WWE's "Greatest Royal Rumble" event is set to emanate from the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 27th April 2018.

With just a couple of days left for the big event, the WWE universe is humming about the potential surprise returns that can happen at the 50 men battle royal.

Cageside Seats have reported that multiple surprise entrants are planned for the event. The return of superstars like Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho is already announced for the event.

The show is also set to feature seven championship matches and two non-title matches apart from the 50 men Royal Rumble.

Speculations are already high on which superstars will be entering the greatest royal rumble match.

With that said, let's look into the five surprise entrants we'd love to see in the greatest royal rumble match.

#5 Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio
Del Rio won the 2011 Royal Rumble

Despite the fact he didn't leave the company on great terms, Del Rio is very much open to a WWE return.

Del Rio left the WWE in 2016 due to creative differences with the company. He would then go on to wrestle for Impact Wrestling under the ring name Alberto El Patron.

Del Rio is no longer working for Impact Wrestling as he was released earlier this month following his no-show to the Lucha Underground vs Impact Wrestling event in New Orleans.

Del Rio was quite vocal when asked about making a return to the WWE and it could materialise at the greatest royal rumble event.

Del Rio is no stranger when it comes to Royal Rumbles as he won a 40-man Royal Rumble match in 2011.

Del Rio does not have much gas left in his tank and it's about time that both sides reach an agreement and facilitate his big return to the WWE.

#4 Mr. Kennedy

Mr. Kennedy
It's the right time for Kennedy to make his return to WWE

Mr.Kenndy's departure from the WWE came as a surprise to the WWE universe when he got released in 2009.

WWE released him from his contract after Randy Orton complained to the management that Kennedy was reckless in the ring. Kennedy botched a backdrop on Orton causing the latter to fall on his head and neck instead of his back.

Kenndy had a successful stint with Impact Wrestling where he wrestled under the name Mr.Anderson from 2010 to 2016.

He is currently wrestling for ROH and furthermore doing independent dates. Now maybe the right time for him to make his WWE return.

#3 Wade Barrett

Wade Barrett
Barett would be an excellent addition

Wade Barrett was the hottest things to come out of the first season of NXT. He had the looks and the charisma to be one of the top stars in the WWE.

When he debuted on the main roster as the leader of the Nexus, the fans expected him to be the next big heel in the company.

But unfortunately, he lost his momentum after the Nexus got buried. He was pushed down the mid-card and only managed to capture the Intercontinental championship five times during his stay with the company.

The WWE has a stacked roster like never before and Barrett could prove to be an excellent addition. And the greatest royal rumble event can open the doors for a potential Wade Barrett return.

#2 Batista

Batista
The Animal looks to be in phenomenal shape!

Most people expected John Cena to be the next big star in Hollywood to come out of the WWE after the Rock. But it was the animal Batista who would take that spot as he has made the successful transition to being a successful actor.

Batista has been quite vocal about making a return to the WWE to have a program with Triple H.

He was even in talks with the WWE to be Ronda Rousey's partner at WrestleMania 34 but unfortunately, it didn't come to fruition.

WWE posted a video on their official youtube channel showing 5 things the fans want to see at WrestleMania 35.

The video featured Batista at the highest priority on the rundown and it appears like a look at things to come in the future.

Batista's last return did not go as planned. But the coast is now clear for the animal to make his final return to the WWE.

The greatest royal rumble can be the best place to have Batista make his highly anticipated return to the company. The return would also pair well with the release of his big movie "The Avengers-Infinity War".

#1 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose
Greatest Royal Rumble is the best place for the Lunatic Fringe to make his return

Dean Ambrose has been out of action since December 2017 after suffering a triceps injury during a match on Raw.

WWE announced that Ambrose would be out of action for no less than nine months until the point that he recoups from his injury.

But we know that WWE is known to exaggerate injuries to facilitate a surprise return in the future.

If that might be the case for Ambrose, then the greatest royal rumble match could be the perfect place for the Lunatic Fringe to make his return.

Ambrose was initially planned to be Seth Rollins' opponent for WrestleMania 34 before his injury. But that feud could materialise if Ambrose returns at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
