5 Surprises to expect on WWE SmackDown - Lesnar destroys current stars, Fiend shows up?

Things may really pick up before SmackDown moves to FOX
Things may really pick up before SmackDown moves to FOX

In only a few weeks, RAW will be replaced by SmackDown Live as the primary brand in the entire WWE catalog, in my opinion. Everyone's buzzing about SmackDown on FOX and even the Season Premiere of RAW does not have as much hype associated with it.

But how does WWE convince the viewers that a brand they've neglected for so very long will be the main featured show in their product offering then? The simplest way to do so would be to book multiple surprises that fans can potentially enjoy.

Let me know which of these surprises you'd like to see on the show this week! I'd love to hear your take, ladies, and gentlemen.

That said, here are 5 surprises that we could potentially see transpire, on this week's episode of SmackDown.

#5 Brock Lesnar destroys Big E and Xavier Woods

We know that Brock Lesnar is not going to be wrestling a match until SmackDown debuts on FOX on October 4th this year. So how then does Lesnar build excitement and anticipation about his much-hyped match against Kofi Kingston for the debut of SmackDown on FOX, you ask? Simple, he shows up on this week's show and he takes apart the backup in the form of Big E and Xavier Woods, leaving Kofi Kingston defenseless.

Thus far, Kofi Kingston has been looking to get into competitive spirit, not willing to back down from a fight against The Beast Incarnate. But if Brock Lesnar destroys his two partners, it would make for a very interesting storyline of a different kind, where Kofi Kingston is out baying for blood against The Beast Incarnate. It would certainly make for very interesting television this week and also on the debut of SmackDown on FOX, where we see a more serious Kofi Kingston.

#4 The Fiend attacks Harper and Rowan

So, Harper and Rowan are at Roman Reigns' throat but all that could be set to change very soon indeed. And it could happen in the form of The Fiend, who may target The Bludgeon Brothers next. And before you dismiss my theory by saying that he's part of the Universal Championship picture, please do check this Tweet out.

So what if the attack on Braun Strowman, who's not a legend in the truest sense of the word was not random, but the first attack on all the members of the Wyatt Family who have abandoned him. Plus, the brand split is pretty much over so the last time that Rollins and Wyatt could meet, could be in the cell. Maybe this is the next storyline that we are witness to, which allows Wyatt to establish himself as a babyface against the evil Bludgeon Brothers.

Imagine if The Fiend and Roman Reigns were to team up in an oddball alliance to make short work of a mutual foe in the form of the Bludgeon Brothers and this is the predominant storyline of SmackDown on FOX, away from the WWE Championship picture.

#3 Daniel Bryan reveals that he's a babyface now

And of course, if you find the previous idea too far fetched, this one certainly won't be because it's being speculated by one and all, right now. Daniel Bryan has been a great WWE Champion and a great SmackDown Tag Team Champion as a heel, but the fact of the matter is that it may be time to bring the 'Yes!' movement back.

Few people in the world can boast a story like the one Daniel Bryan has lived, coming back from injury after being told that he will never wrestle again. And now, with Roman Reigns in tow, the two men could potentially establish themselves as the two top babyfaces on SmackDown with a program against both Harper and Rowan.

It only makes sense for Daniel Bryan to become a babyface now, especially if the brand is going to be built around Brock Lesnar, who's a top heel. Then the prevailing storyline may just be that everyone is trying to fell The Beast, and someone like Daniel Bryan ultimately succeeds at WrestleMania 36.

What a massive comeback story this could potentially be for Daniel Bryan, so many years after WrestleMania 30, where he was the center of attention!

#2 Another Hell in a Cell match added

Sure, Dash and Dawson may be the top guys of the promotion on paper, holding the Tag Team Titles, we know the truth, do we not? Tag Team Wrestling has never been a priority in WWE and considering everyone's wanted a Revival vs. Young Bucks match in the past, maybe the 'top guys' have considered a move to greener pastures more than once in the past few weeks. But all of that could change on SmackDown Live.

We already know that two matches from RAW will take place inside the cell. The Fiend will take Seth Rollins to the limit for the Universal Championship and Becky Lynch will face Sasha Banks for what should be a match that steals the show. But what if the plans also entail The Revival mixing it up with a team from the roster, like The New Day?

As we've seen in the past, The New Day can steal the show inside a steel structure, and we all know that The Revival is arguably the best Tag Team unit of our generation, by a fair margin. Maybe The Usos can make a valiant return as well, and remind us just how good they can be.

#1 Kevin Owens gets a lawyer

What a lot of people forget is that Abyss is now currently employed with WWE, albeit in a backstage role. And what a lot of people may not remember is that Abyss has an alter ego called Joseph Park, who is a lawyer.

WWE has a chance to introduce Park as a character on SmackDown Live, and we know that they're not averse to doing so considering how they embraced the 'Broken' gimmick, not long ago. It would be a great comedy pairing with Kevin Owens and the two men could advance the Shane McMahon storyline in a hilarious manner because the feud seems tired and contrived at this moment.

I don't know if Park can still go in the ring, but if he is cleared by doctors, he could end up having a really fun little run in WWE. Maybe we'll finally get to see the Abyss vs. Kane match that fans have wanted for ever so long but never could get because the two men have always been in rival promotions until now.
