John Cena wearing the nWo gear
On the road to WrestleMania 36, John Cena was challenged to a match by The Fiend, shortly after the latter lost his Universal title to Goldberg at Super ShowDown 2020. Cena accepted the challenge, but he had no idea what was in store for him at WrestleMania. At The Show of Shows, John Cena and Wyatt engaged in a Firefly Fun House match, which was basically Wyatt playing with Cena's mind and taking him on a trip down memory lane using a bunch of dream sequences.

John Cena had never faced such an opponent
John Cena has wrestled the best, and has beaten them all, but Bray Wyatt's mind games were too much for him on that night. At one point during the match, Cena was transported to the late 90s, on Monday Nitro. Bray Wyatt, acting as Eric Bischoff, introduced John Cena, who was playing the role of Hollywood Hogan. Fans were taken aback when they saw Cena wearing the nWo garb. This certainly wasn't a visual anyone had expected to ever see.

He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
