Gigi Dolin was among the talents released by WWE on May 2 and has been free to sign with any promotion since earlier this month. Dolin made headlines last week for a concerning tweet, opening up about her struggles creating a new identity following her WWE departure.
The 28-year-old star is set to have a busy June, including bookings for promotions such as Pro Wrestling REVOLVER, Absolute Intense Wrestling, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment, and Blitzkrieg! Pro Wrestling.
With that out of the way, let's look at five things that you might not know about Gigi Dolin.
#5. Darby Allin is Gigi Dolin's ex-husband
During her time with All Elite Wrestling, Gigi Dolin was married to one of the promotion's pillars, Darby Allin. The couple was together for just a few months before getting married in 2018. They divorced two years later, and their separation was amicable.
Dolin considers her ex-husband a dear friend. She explained on The Vickie Guerrero Show that she and Allin realized that they got married way too young, and they were better as friends.
#4. Gigi Dolin is engaged to Zachary Wentz
After her divorce from Darby Allin, Gigi Dolin found love again a few years later when she began dating Zachary Wentz. The pair has been public about their relationship since February 2023 and got engaged eight months later.
Based on Dolin's social media posts, the couple is still together. She sent him a heartfelt birthday message in late April. The former NXT champion also shared several photos of herself and Wentz on dates and at other life events.
#3. The Undertaker is her favorite WWE Superstar
On the Drinks With Johnny podcast, Gigi Dolin revealed that her favorite WWE Superstar growing up was The Undertaker.
"[The] Undertaker’s mine and my brother’s favorite wrestler of all-time. We love him to death. (...) I'm pretty sure after I was crying, introducing myself to him, I’m pretty sure Shawn [Michaels] was in the corner laughing, because Shawn knew I was a huge fan of Undertaker and I’m pretty sure he was laughing at me while I was sobbing and embarrassing myself, meeting The Undertaker," Dolin said. Dolin was overwhelmed when she met the legend at the Performance Center, explaining that she was very awkward and began sobbing.
#2. Gigi Dolin's younger brother introduced her to pro wrestling
Gigi Dolin wasn't a fan of pro wrestling growing up. She started watching because of her brother, Miles, who was a huge fan of WWE. Miles is autistic, and he is an inspiration for Dolin to continue working hard.
The 28-year-old's goal is not to win championships in wrestling but to provide his younger brother a good life. Everything she does is because of Miles, who is 10 years younger than her.
#1. Gigi Dolin was a reality TV star before becoming a pro wrestler
Before becoming a WWE Superstar, Gigi Dolin was a reality TV star at the age of 14. She appeared on My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding on TLC, looking for a husband due to her upbringing as part of a Romani Gypsy family. She found a future husband at the end of the episode, but they didn't get married.
Dolin ran away from home at age 18 and began her career as a pro wrestler. She began wrestling all over the independent circuit in the United States before a regular gig at Shine Women's Wrestling. She also traveled to Japan before joining AEW in 2019 and signing with WWE in 2021.
