In 2016, WWE presented an angle on SmackDown LIVE that saw The Miz feuding with Dolph Ziggler.

As part of the storyline, The Miz brought back Spirit Squad members Kenny and Mikey to feud with Ziggler and serve as his back-up. When asked if he was contacted to be part of the angle, Jeter confirmed he was contacted by WWE:

"Yes, I was called. I was driving from San Diego to visit my family back to Arizona and I got a call from Mark Carrano. Asked me if I wanted to come do a gig. He was like 'could last one night. Could last six months, we're not sure yet. But can you make it?' And I was like, 'Umm, let me talk to my wife and I'll get back to you.' So he said 'ok, cool.'"

Unfortunately, Jeter was unable to participate in the storyline because his job at the time was the external auditors of WWE, presenting a conflict of interest:

"The company I worked for was Deloitte and Touche. They are the external auditors of WWE. WWE is publicly traded. So I knew there was probably a compliance or a conflict of interest there. I'm not on the account, I'm not a manager on the account, I'm not invested in the company and I made that argument. I notified HR and Legal, and I got this huge, huge e-mail saying 'you cannot perform any paid or unpaid services with WWE because they're attest client, a restricted enitity. Sorry.'"

#3 Johnny Jeter reveals his thoughts when WWE presented the Spirit Squad concept

The Spirit Squad is one gimmick that is often mocked by the WWE Universe and critics alike. When asked what his original thoughts on the concept were, Jeter admitted that it certainly blindsinded the five members of the group:

"When you get a call saying 'the five of you are coming to RAW,' we didn't know if it was to do something together or separate. We just thought come to RAW, maybe one of us will work a dark match, a tag, whatever. So, when they said 'yeah throw these uniforms on. You're going to be male cheerleaders,' I think a lot of our hearts sank."

Despite the gimmick not being the best, Jeter was quick to point out how much fun the group had working with some of the biggest names in WWE history:

"But again, the mindset and idea behind it was 'what do you people hate more than anything?' A male cheerleader. At least at the time; I'm not saying that's the way people think now. So, we just took the ball and ran with it. We had a great time, working with Kane and Big Show, DX, Flair, Piper. We were very fortunate enough to wrestle some major, legendary names up there and I think we're forever grateful for it."
