We are only a few days removed from the final stop before WrestleMania 34. Fastlane may seem like an underwhelming pay-per-view, just judging from the card, but it has major WrestleMania implications for sure. Moreover, it may seem like a one-match card, but there's a lot to look forward to. As always, you can get all the hottest action as it happens, right here.
WWE may do a few things wrong, heading into this massive pay-per-view. We are here to advise a set of guidelines, safeguards and suggestions that could prevent the company from making these mistakes, in the unlikely event that they're reading this listicle. We've shortlisted the 5 major mistakes they could make, in this article.
We invite you to leave a comment below and let us know your thoughts on WWE Fastlane 2018. Are you excited about it, or are you not?
Whatever the case may be, just read on, folks!
#5 Ruby Riott becomes the SmackDown Women's Champion

Ruby Riott is certainly the most gifted superstar in the Riott Squad. She has a world of potential, can cut a great promo and is good in the ring. However, she does not seem ready to be Women's Champion just yet. Putting the Championship on her may actually work against her.
Charlotte Flair has been described by many as the greatest women's superstar in WWE history. Ruby Riott is just a few months old in the main roster. She needs to wait a while before she's ready to become the face of the women's division.
Charlotte Flair needs to carry the Championship all the way to WrestleMania 34. Imagine the kind of entrance she may just have, for the second year in a row.
Ruby Riott's time will come for certain, but it's still a while away!
#4 Carmella cashes in the Money in the Bank Contract

It's been a while since Carmella won her Money in the Bank briefcase, hasn't it? We don't blame you if you don't remember because she has been off TV for a while as well. Well, we don't think Carmella should be cashing in her briefcase at Fastlane. We have two strong reasons the Princess of Staten Island shouldn't cash in.
The first, it would ruin a potential Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka match as is being speculated. Remember that Asuka has not picked her opponent yet. This will be a dream match and should take place at a stage like WrestleMania.
Moreover, we think that Carmella should cash in her briefcase, during a RAW Women's Championship match. This would be an unexpected development and could shake the whole landscape of RAW up significantly.
Somehow the idea of Carmella as SmackDown Women's Champion is not an appealing prospect for us.
#3 Bobby Roode loses the US Championship

It does not help that ever since he won the United States Championship, he's been fighting for the 'Top 10' list. It does not help that we do not get a glimpse of the heel persona that got him over in TNA and NXT, on SmackDown Live. Bobby Roode is a diluted superstar. The only thing he has going for him is his championship.
In our estimation, Roode needs to comprehensively defeat Randy Orton to be regarded as a top SmackDown Live superstar, going forward. Bray Wyatt lost all his steam when he was pinned by Randy Orton at WrestleMania, and the same could happen at Fastlane, if Roode does not win clean.
#2 John Cena becomes a 17-time champion

There are many reasons why John Cena should not win the 6-Pack Challenge to crown the new WWE Champion at Fastlane. The first and most important is that it does not fit the narrative. John Cena is struggling to make it to WrestleMania, and this could seem like the easiest way out of the situation. But there are other reasons too.
An achievement like a 17th world title win deserves to happen at a stage like WrestleMania. Fastlane is not really the right stage for a feat this big. If anything, this will just water down the achievement.
Finally, it will ruin the AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match at WrestleMania 34. And that's the match that hardcore fans have wanted to see for a long time now.
#1 Baron Corbin becomes WWE Champion

Baron Corbin may just be the most improved star on SmackDown Live, at this point in time. However, the very thought of him holding the championship right now is just blasphemous. Especially so close to WrestleMania. In our opinion, he's the worst of the six contestants in the match.
AJ Styles winning the match is the ideal scenario. However, even if Owens, Zayn, Ziggler or Cena were to win the match, there could be interesting plotlines developing from the big win. Corbin does nothing to contribute to the WrestleMania excitement for us.
That's our analysis of the current situation. Do you agree with our thoughts?
