The match was promoted in a huge way. It considerably highlighted the friction between Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon. It would have been poetic to see Shane McMahon, the SmackDown Live Commissioner, tap out to Kurt Angle, the Raw General Manager.

Triple H stirred emotions among the fans with the possibility of his feuds with Shane McMahon, Kurt Angle, and Braun Strowman. However, Shane’s tapping out to the Ankle Lock could have been the moment of the year.
