WWE Raw: 4 things WWE did right in the latest edition of Raw

With Wrestlemania just a couple of weeks away, this week's edition of Raw was very important for WWE

WrestleMania is just a couple of weeks away now and it is usually at this point of time that WWE starts tying up whatever loose ends are left. The storylines that have still not converged tend to converge (although still not necessarily making sense).

But with WrestleMania almost here it's about time WWE finalized the matches and put things in place. To add to this, the last couple of weeks are pretty much the perfect time to hype up the matches as much as they can so that they have a decent momentum before the PPV kicks off especially when you consider the fact that some matches have not even gotten decided and others really need some momentum before the big day.

With that in mind, this edition of Raw was important for WWE so let's see what were the things that WWE did right.

#1 All the three top women were in action

The trio of Becky, Charlotte and Ronda were in a

Maybe the WWE team tried too hard too early that they've now just run out of ideas. They've done the segments, the women have talked, they've beaten up the security guards, they've beaten up each other and through a twisted route all three of them have finally converged in the same match and will be going up against each other.

Now with not much left to do, the three women are in action with some pretty interesting stipulations. The beat the clock challenge which saw Becky Lynch win did keep everyone hooked as everyone was interested to see who would come out on top. With pretty much nothing left to do between the women, the three will go up against the riot squad in a tag team match next week and it would be interesting to see how that one fares.

#2 Finn Balor gets his shot at the Intercontinental title

Yes, it's true (not taking the cue from Kurt Angle) and we have to admit that the feud between Bobby Lashley and his minion against Finn Balor has been a bit of a slow burn. It should end and both the wrestlers should move on to other things because it has gone on for too long now.

Maybe they'll move on from each other post WrestleMania and if that is the case it made sense to finally put a pin on the WrestleMania match between the two where they face each other for the Intercontinental Title. This time it was a handicap match which featured Jinder Mahal (who doesn't win anything these days) and Bobby Lashley against Finn Balor with the stipulation of Finn qualifying for the Intercontinental Title match if he won.

#3 Roman Reigns accepts Drew McIntyre's challenge

This has to be one of the tastiest matchups at WrestleMania because it was about time Drew McIntyre was put in a high stakes match. And what bigger a match could there be than a match against the quintessential babyface of the company, Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns came out to the ring and accepted McIntyre's challenge for a match at WrestleMania and what this does is it possibly sets up these two, possibly two of the brightest stars of the future of WWE for a clash that should be defined as a start of a rivalry that would carry on for a while.

Roman Reigns finally has the crowd behind him and Drew is the different kind of heel that doesn't back down from a fight. This match is going to have stakes of epic proportions and it's great news that it got finalized.

#4 Drew McIntyre vs Dean Ambrose (Last Man Standing Match)

Will it be a correct assertion that maybe, just maybe Drew McIntyre's main event push has actually started? Ever since the last match between the shield and Drew's buddies has taken place Drew seems to have taken things up a notch. He has attacked and beaten up pretty much all of the shield members. He beat up Roman Reigns two weeks ago and completely destroyed Dean Ambrose, then pinned Seth Rollins last week and this week he again got the upper hand on Roman Reigns and yet again convincingly beat Dean Ambrose in the last man standing match.

Even if we keep all that aside the quality of matches that Drew has been part of also show how good a wrestler he is and definitely deserves a run to the top. What remains to be seen is whether WWE will put all that on one side and yet again push their guy Roman Reigns during their match at WrestleMania or whether this is the changing of the guard and the road to the Universal Championship has begun for Drew McIntyre.
