5 controversial things WWE must do during The Shield reunion

What will this Shield reunion entail?
What will this Shield reunion entail?

Another Shield reunion seems to be on the horizon in WWE and while this is an idea that the company has already done one too many times, it's still a little exciting to see these three men share a ring again. In fact, between Roman Reigns returning from his months-long battle with Leukemia and Seth Rollins's white hot run as a babyface, it could be big for WWE!

Beyond that, it could act as the perfect stopgap between now and WrestleMania 35, which is something the company is in need of with Brock Lesnar being absent from television and Seth Rollins still recovering from injury. If nothing else, it's not the worst idea WWE has come up with and could be very interesting to watch play out in the coming months.

With that being said and the writing being on the wall that another Shield reunion is in the works, here are five things WWE must do this time around with one of the most iconic factions in the company's history.

As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us what you think The Shield will do when they reunite.

#5 Don't reunite The Shield right away

Does WWE really need to reunite The Shield right away?
Does WWE really need to reunite The Shield right away?

Let's be honest here, it just be wouldn't be very satisfying if WWE suddenly had Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins share a ring together without dealing with what happened the night Reigns' left to battle Leukemia. Furthermore, it would be a huge injustice to the impact that The Shield reunion could have if they take their time on it.

Think about it! What does WWE really have to lose by stringing this whole thing out a little bit? Its still going to be The Shield reunion everyone wants, its still going to be an iconic moment on The Road To WrestleMania, but the company should definitely take its time getting to that moment.

In the end, there needs to be a reason or some kind of driving force that brings all three men back together. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins eventually forgiving Ambrose for what he did doesn't seem out of the question, but WWE would really be stretching the reality of it all if they did it all in the span of a few weeks.

#4 Play up Dean Ambrose leaving WWE

Shouldn't WWE be playing up the fact that Dean Ambrose might be leaving?
Shouldn't WWE be playing up the fact that Dean Ambrose might be leaving?

Why isn't WWE already doing this? WWE has played off of more controversial real-life situations in the past and it seems ridiculous that the company wouldn't want to do that here. In fact, with the success of the summer of Punk storyline back in 2011, one really has to wonder why the company isn't jumping all over this.

Dean Ambrose and WWE have already made it clear that The Lunatic Fringe is planning to leave when his contract expires and while that might not be the case anymore, the company could at least let it play into the storyline somehow. Maybe WWE could even let Dean Ambrose do his own version of a pipebomb and use it to boost ratings.

If nothing else, WWE has a great opportunity in front of them and should be doing everything possible in order to capitalize on it. How exactly the company does it and what effect it has on The Shield is anyone's guess, but sitting back and doing nothing just looks petty and ridiculous.

#3 Give a young star a win over them

Can Drew McIntyre get a key win over The Shield?
Can Drew McIntyre get a key win over The Shield?

It can't all be powerbombs and fist bumps.

While the upcoming Shield reunion raises a lot of interesting possibilities on the road to WrestleMania 35, fans have to also realize that it raises the opportunity for the company to establish a rising star or group of rising stars. Unfortunately for fans of the iconic faction, that likely means that The Hounds of Justice will be handed a huge loss before all is said and done.

Now who gets to pull off this monumental feat and how it ultimately happens is up to WWE, but fans should be accepting of whoever manages to pull it off. With that being said and rumors circulating about Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley being The Shield's first opponents, it would be very smart of WWE to do it now!

At least that way, the company can kind of script the loss around The Shield not being on the same page yet and allows them to get their momentum back at a later time. WWE could also put them in a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania 35, which would be a cool sendoff for the group if it is indeed Ambrose's last match.

In the end, it allows the group of McIntyre, Lashley and Corbin to win, Ambrose can take the fall for the team and WWE can blame everything on The Shield not working together. The Shield can then rebound later in a match on Raw, maybe even loss again and then come back and get a decisive victory at WrestleMania 35.

#2 Add Roman Reigns to Universal title picture.

Should Roman Reigns be added to The Universal title picture?
Should Roman Reigns be added to The Universal title picture?

Vince McMahon has already made a lot of controversial decisions over the course of the last couple of weeks and it's a trend that will likely continue into the future. In fact, WWE seems to be scripting McMahon to look more and more out of touch with reality, which is why he should be the one to add Roma

McMahon already went against Triple H by removing Becky Lynch from the Women's title match and replacing her with Charlotte Flair, but him doing it again with Seth Rollins might just bring the two to blows. Beyond that, it will create a believable crack in The Shield that keeps fans intrigued until the very end.

With that being said, WWE doesn't have to go through with something like this and could easily be passed off as a bout of insanity by Vince McMahon.

#1 Have The Shield help Rollins win The Universal title

Can The Shield topple Brock Lesnar?
Can The Shield topple Brock Lesnar?

Brock Lesnar versus Seth Rollins - it's one of WWE's money matches for WrestleMania 35 and could steal the show depending on how things play out. With that in mind, however, one has to understand that Rollins defeating Lesnar clean isn't realistic and that he will ultimately need some help in order to dispose of the beast.

Think about it! Brock Lesnar hasn't been pinned since losing to Roman Reigns at Summerslam last year and fans are only diluting themselves if they think a stat like that is going to change for a guy like Rollins. In fact, with WWE being so anxious to protect Lesnar at any cost and The WWE Universe's desire for Rollins to win, the company might have to compromise.

In the end, the perfect compromise would be to see The Shield as a collective unit despose of Lesnar and help Rollins win The Universal title. Not only does this booking decision give the fans the storybook ending they are so desperately looking for, but it also protects Lesnar in defeat and doesn't hurt his credibility.
