5 Things WWE must do to increase ticket sales

How can WWE increase ticket sales?
How can WWE increase ticket sales?

WWE is doing everything they can to get their act together after months of less than stellar programming. While the company has largely succeeded in this, there are still a few hurdles they need to clear.

With that being said and the company struggling to sell tickets for upcoming shows, it's very obvious they need to update their game plan.

How they do that is up to them and will depend on whether the company can go out of their own way, but price slashing gimmicks are only going to work for so long.

Beyond that, it's going to create a situation where WWE looks bad for doing these type of deals, which isn't going to inspire much confidence in the overall product.

In the end, here are five things WWE must do to increase ticket sales. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us how you believe WWE can increase ticket sales.

#5 Do a better job of moving storylines forward

WWE needs to give fans some unique storyline moments again!
WWE needs to give fans some unique storyline moments again!

Out of all the things that WWE has struggled with over the course of its modern day existence, their use of 50/50 booking and not moving storylines forward has continued to plague them the worst. In fact, it's one of the main things that The WWE Universe doesn't agree with the company on.

With that being said and WWE needing to make every minute of programming matter, it only makes sense that they take a more liberal approach to their storytelling.

Now WWE can do this in several ways, but the most important one is going to be making sure that they don't spin their wheels storyline wise.

WWE has done a great job amping up their storytelling over the last couple of months and will most likely continue to do so to growing returns, but that kind of progress isn't going to matter if they don't give the audience the opportunity to see something speical to enjoy!

#4 Get the title off Lesnar

Brock Lesnar might be one of the biggest modern day draws in WWE history, but having him as the champion does come with its disadvantages.

One of the biggest ones is the fact that Lesnar only has interest in working a part-time schedule, which means no weekly appearances.

Unfortunately for some members of the WWE Universe, that means that they won't be able to see Lesnar when RAW comes to their town.

Beyond that, it also means that Monday Night RAW is missing its main title. While that is excusable at times, it still gives fans less incentive to come out.

What WWE needs to do is get the belt off Brock Lesnar and get it on someone that can make all or more of the shows.

At least that way, fans will have the incentive to come to RAW every week, especially if The Universal Champion is there and the storyline will most likely move on in a more meaningful way.

#3 More title matches

WWE has been on an uptick lately since implementing Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff into the Executive Director roles, but there are still a few things the company needs to change. One of the biggest one, however, is the fact that WWE doesn't hold title matches as often as they should and it really takes away from the experience.

Think about it! Would you rather go to an episode of Monday Night RAW that featured a six-man tag team match, or one with a Universal Title match?

Even if it wasn't for the big red belt, you have to admit that the addition of any title match would be an extra incentive to go to the event!

And that's what WWE needs right now! That extra bit of something that makes a particular episode of Monday Night RAW or SmackDown Live irresistible to watch.

#2 Hold more special events

WWE had some of their best programmings at Raw reunion this year!

While The WWE Universe watching at home don't always enjoy the festivities, shows like RAW 25 and RAW Reunion are perfect examples of what can help drive up ticket sales.

In fact, between the usually legendary guest list and watching the past and present collide in the squared circle, more special events should be a no brainer for WWE!

Of course, this isn't something WWE can pull off every week or month for that matter, but the company should look at holding more events like this every four months or so.

At least that way, WWE has a few more special events a year that they can make money on and the fans have more incentive to be there than at a regular episode.

Again, how many times WWE gets away with this is going to depend on how good of an experience they can make it for television viewers, but having special events is not something WWE should shy away from.

If nothing else, and with the company's rabid fanbase of die-hard fans, it's something they should embrace!

#1 More dream matches

One of the biggest things WWE has done and needs to continue to do is book dream matches. Not only does this give particular shows that once in a lifetime feeling, especially at pay per views, it could also help bring long-time fans back to see the big match finally take place.

For example, who wouldn't want to see Brock Lesnar have that dream match with Matt Riddle?

Or maybe even John Cena versus Drew McIntyre in a one on one contest. Then again, maybe WWE can continue to explore legends matches and do Undertaker versus Finn Balor or Triple H versus Bray Wyatt.

In the end, WWE and its current crop of Superstars could benefit from a high profile program like that and fans would be glued to the edge of their seats just to see it.
