#4 Jake Atlas shows a lot of heart
After brutally attacking Drake Maverick over the past couple of weeks, NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar was out in the middle for his match against Jake Atlas.
Atlas seemed like the perfect man to stand up to Escobar after what had been done to Maverick last week. Atlas tried to gain control of the match after Escobar backed him into a corner early. The two men continued to trade strikes as an angry Atlas took the fight to the champion as he looked to avenge Maverick.
Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza, who were at ringside, kept on taunting and distracting Atlas, and even though he made a late comeback in the match, he was put away by the NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
Will a new babyface faction rise on WWE NXT?
NXT is telling this story really well, and it seems like they are picking up different pieces from the NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament to fit them into this rivalry. It seems likely that Kushida will also join Maverick and Atlas soon as the three men will try to take down Escobar and his villainous faction.
