WWE Night of Champions 2025 is stacked with several high-stakes bouts with major implications for The Biggest Party of the Summer. With the King and Queen of the Ring finals set to take place at the premium live event in addition to some massive title clashes, the PLE could shape the second half of WWE’s year.
However, one wrong booking decision could ruin several storylines. Let’s check out a few things that the Stamford-based company should not do in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this year.
#5. Finn Balor shouldn’t help Dominik Mysterio retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship
Roman Reigns leaving WWE soon? Here's all we know!
AJ Styles vs. Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship is officially set for Night of Champions, but all eyes are on Finn Balor. For months, WWE has teased growing tension between Balor and Dom, with The Prince rumored to quit The Judgment Day and go solo after years.
If WWE wants to set up a match between Balor and Mysterio at SummerSlam, the betrayal must happen in the coming weeks. Balor helping Mysterio during his title defense at Night of Champions would make no sense at this point.
#4. Cody Rhodes shouldn’t lose the King of the Ring Tournament
Cody Rhodes is currently in the middle of a redemption arc after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena back at WrestleMania 41. Winning the 2025 King of the Ring Tournament is the perfect way to bring him back into the championship picture, with a guaranteed title opportunity at SummerSlam.
This is the biggest reason WWE should crown Rhodes the King of the Ring, which would help him earn his way back to the top as the No. 1 contender for the title.
#3. Jade Cargill shouldn’t lose the Queen of the Ring Tournament
Jade Cargill has been rebuilding her presence on the blue brand after her heated rivalry with Naomi recently. Winning the Queen of the Ring Tournament would finally give her the push and cement her as one of the top names in the women's division.
The Queen of the Ring crown would not only add a massive accolade to her name but would also help her get into the title picture to become one of the biggest names on the roster.
#2. CM Punk shouldn’t lose clean
John Cena vs. CM Punk is one of the most anticipated matches of the year, with fans eagerly looking towards the clash. The match is dubbed as ‘One Final Time’ and Cena is expected to defeat The Best in the World to continue his Retirement Tour.
While Punk losing is expected, he should not lose the match clean at any cost. This could lead to a massive drop in Punk’s aura, which could affect his character adversely ahead of SummerSlam.
#1. Seth Rollins shouldn’t cash in his MITB contract
With Seth Rollins holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, a cash-in can happen anytime The Visionary decides. The MITB cash-in is expected to be successful, and Seth has the option of making his presence felt at Night of Champions. However, he shouldn’t cash in at the premium live event.
While Gunther hasn't been booked for a match at the Saudi Arabian PLE yet, Cena will be in action at Night of Champions. A potential win for Rollins would take the title off Cena, which would end up making no sense at all. Rather, Rollins should wait and cash in on the World Heavyweight Champion.
It would be interesting to see what WWE has planned for the premium live event.
