5 Things you need to know about JoJo Offerman

Who is Joseann Alexie Offerman?

Born Joseann Alexie Offerman, JoJo is a name that is familiar to the WWE Universe, at least those in tune with the current product. Primarily in her role as the ring announcer for Raw, Jojo has become a WWE mainstay. A familiar face, who always stayed under the radar. Until recently.

JoJo has garnered much mainstream attention after WWE superstar Bray Wyatt’s wife Samantha Rotunda filed for divorce, alleging that Wyatt was having an affair with JoJo Offerman. They were even seen arriving at Raw together.

There’s a lot more to JoJo than just being the woman at Bray Wyatt’s side though. In this feature, we shall introduce you to her, with 5 interesting facts. Read on, folks.

#5 Her father is a famous baseball star

Jose Offerman was a baseball star for almost twenty years

The spotlight is not unfamiliar to JoJo Offerman, because of her Superstar old man. Her father, Jose Offerman played Major League Baseball for 15 seasons, and independent and Mexican league baseball for almost five years too.

Having signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as far back as 1986, Offerman has had a storied career, having hit 57 home runs in his career, with a batting average of .273 through his run in Major League baseball.

While he’s been no stranger to controversy, having charged Bridgeport Bluefish pitcher Matt Beech after being hit with a bat and also for striking an umpire during a Dominican Republic Winter League game, Offerman is a recognisable name in the world of baseball and probably had much to do with JoJo’s interest in glitz and glamor.

#4 She’s (technically) undefeated on the main roster

JoJo has a better win-loss record than every major sports entertainment star today

Yes, we are aware that wins and losses do not really matter in what is, essentially, a scripted sport. However, it is an interesting statistic to note that JoJo Offerman, having been a part of three matches in the main roster, has won them all.

While none of these matches were one-on-one contests, and she was actually pinned in two of the matches, JoJo has always been on the winning side.

In JoJo’s first match where she teamed up with Natalya and Eva Marie, to defeat Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes, and Aksana, she was never even tagged into the match. She was eliminated in her Total Divas vs. True Divas match at Survivor Series 2013, but her team emerged victorious in the contest.

The next night JoJo picked up her first pinfall over Tamina Snuka, as the two teams battled in a rematch on Raw. Funnily, she’s never won even one match in NXT. Fast forward to the 3.50 mark to see JoJo score her only pinfall victory over Tamina.

#3 She was dating Vader’s son

It's time! It’s time! It’s fact number 3 time!

Since the year 2013, JoJo Offerman had publicly been in a relationship with former NXT Superstar Jake Carter. Carter is the son of Leon White, better known in the wrestling circles as Big Van Vader.

During the days of FCW, Carter was even a Florida Tag Team Champion with Raw announcer Corey Graves. Unfortunately, Carter's love affair with wrestling ended on a sad note as he was released from his WWE contract in September 2013. This is JoJo’s Instagram post, from as recently as April this year, celebrating her then-boyfriend's birthday.

#2 JoJo is a fantastic singer

JoJo Offerman has performed the US National Anthem several times at WWE events

While JoJo Offerman never had any formal vocal training, she’s been singing since she was two, according to an interview she did with wwe.com in 2013. Whereas her wrestling career hasn’t exactly worked out well, JoJo’s singing background has ensured that she has a vital place in WWE’s programming, in some ways replacing what Lilian Garcia brought to the table, previously.

Offerman was also part of a group called ‘Little Miss’, once upon a time. She made her debut on WWE Main Event in 2013, singing the theme song for ‘Tons of Funk’, alongside Naomi and Cameron. You can hear her groovy version of the song below.

#1 JoJo’s age ended her Total Divas run

JoJo was 19 when she signed with Total Divas

JoJo and Eva Marie were chosen to be part of the first season of Total Divas, and while Eva has continued to the latest season, JoJo was sent into developmental after the first season.

The women of Total Bellas appeared on Talk is Jericho to promote the second season of the show in 2014 and Brie Bella said that JoJo was no longer a part of Total Divas because of her age (right now, she's 23 years of age).

Cameron added that she was a far more interesting person off camera than when the cameras started rolling. We're certain she’s come a long way since then and wonder if she’ll feature on the show someday.
