The Undertaker has been part of WWE now for more than three decades and even though he's been one of the biggest stars in the company in that time, ever since his streak ended back in 2014, many fans have been waiting for The Deadman to announce his retirement.
Roman Reigns was able to defeat The Deadman back at WrestleMania 33 and after the match, The Undertaker left his robe and hat in the ring and walked back up the ramp. Many believed this was The Deadman announcing his retirement and he was then not seen in WWE for a number of months.
There were also rumors that this meant that Undertaker was returning to the company under his American Badass gimmick, which is why he no longer needed his attire, which was another rumor that never came into fruition. Instead, Undertaker waited a few months and then returned to the company with his same gimmick and picked up a feud with Goldberg, since the WCW star wanted to face Undertaker in Saudi Arabia.
