5 Twists That Could Happen on the SmackDown Live After Fastlane

Who is the WrestleMania 34 opponent for one John Cena?
Who is the WrestleMania 34 opponent for one John Cena?

Fastlane has just concluded and we're well on our way to WrestleMania 34. While the show had its moments, it certainly wasn't the most memorable pay-per-view of the year. In fact, Fastlane was a good indication of why it was the final SmackDown Live brand-exclusive pay-per-view. It was a solid night of wrestling with few events of note.

We can only think that WWE did not pull any major surprises at Fastlane because they were saving the good stuff for the fallout episode of SmackDown Live on Tuesday night. In this article, we'll offer you a glimpse of all the twists that could happen at the huge show. Let us know your thoughts and views in the comments.

Mind you, this is just a speculative article and really, nothing more!

#5 The Undertaker confronts John Cena

Will the Dead Man show up on SmackDown Live?

As Fastlane rolled off the air, we saw a dejected Cena. Cena is convinced that he doesn't have a WrestleMania 34 opponent anymore. He squashed his opportunity at the Elimination Chamber. He did not stand tall after Fastlane.

Many expected the Dead Man to show up after Fastlane, to challenge John Cena. Unfortunately, he did not. Maybe the plan was always for him to show up on SmackDown Live.

With Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Braun Strowman on RAW, The Undertaker could be the firepower SmackDown Live needs to get people excited on the road to WrestleMania. We think there's a great possibility that this feud will be built up on SmackDown Live instead of RAW.

Imagine Cena cutting a promo on SmackDown Live when the lights go out, and a gong hits.

#4 Dolph Ziggler turns on Shane McMahon

How does WWE get to Shane McMahon vs. Ziggler?
How does WWE get to Shane McMahon vs. Ziggler?

The rumours that are doing the rounds right now indicate that Shane McMahon will face Dolph Ziggler come WrestleMania 34. Right now, they have no reason to feud. If anything, Owens and Zayn have a bone to pick with Shane McMahon. How does WWE get to Shane McMahon vs. Dolph Ziggler then?

We suppose that McMahon could team up with Ziggler for a tag team match against Owens and Zayn on SmackDown Live. During the course of the match, something could happen that causes a rift between Ziggler and McMahon. This sets up the WrestleMania 34 marquee match.

Sadly, from what we hear Zayn and Owens will only be part of a Battle Royal. A huge step down for two highly talented WWE superstars.

However, we're glad that a superstar like Dolph Ziggler will get his well deserved singles WrestleMania opportunity at long last.

#3 Carmella ruins a dream match scenario

Maybe there's a 3-way match at WrestleMania!
Maybe there's a 3-way match at WrestleMania!

Charlotte Flair may have defeated Ruby Riott, but there are two other women who are baying for her blood. If they do find her, they could lay her out. This would be the perfect opportunity for Carmella to cash in her briefcase. And if she did cash it in, she'd effectively ruin what is being described as a dream match!

While this wouldn't be a positive development for many fans, it would really shake it up. With WrestleMania 34 approaching, this is a real possibility!

#2 Daniel Bryan announces his in-ring return

Could we actually see Bryan vs. McMahon at WrestleMania 34?
Could we actually see Bryan vs. McMahon at WrestleMania 34?

We've seen Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan at odds for many months now. While the rumours do indicate that Shane McMahon will face Dolph Ziggler, wouldn't Bryan be a more logical opponent? Of course, the only problem is that Daniel Bryan is not an active competitor. Maybe he's been cleared and we don't know it yet!

Since this is a speculative article anyway, we're speculating that Daniel Bryan announces his in-ring return on SmackDown Live, this week. This is, of course, a story that will make a lot of sense from a booking perspective. Plus, Bryan's presence will add depth to the WrestleMania card.

Bryan has made it clear several times that he prefers being a wrestler to an authority figure. Why wouldn't he? After all, he's the Shawn Michaels of the current era.

#1 The Usos are stripped of the Tag Team Championships

Could The Usos be deemed unfit to compete at WrestleMania?
Could The Usos be deemed unfit to compete at WrestleMania?

We saw a fantastic match between The Usos and The New Day disrupted by the Bludgeon Brothers at Fastlane. The kind of beating that they put on the two teams needs to be 'sold'. The best way to achieve the same would be to deem The Usos unfit to compete at WrestleMania. This would also play into the fact that they were left off the card last year.

As a result, we could possibly see The Usos being stripped of the Tag Team titles as early as SmackDown Live this week. Maybe a tournament is conducted to crown new champions. Maybe The Bludgeon Brothers win the tournament and go on to WrestleMania as the SmackDown Tag Champions.

The Usos could return just in the nick of time to reclaim their titles. They would be the clear babyfaces heading into WrestleMania 34.
