5 unexpected tag-teams we could see in WWE

We love the Rusev Day, but who expected them to pair up in the first place!
We love the Rusev Day, but who expected them to pair up in the first place?

It is no secret that WWE often loves to take two random superstars struggling in the singles division and pair them up for a tag-team run, usually with a nice little breakup feud at the end.

Some examples of such teams in the recent times have been the highly successful Sheamus-Cesaro duo, wildly popular Rusev-Aiden English unit, current RAW tag champs Rollins-Jordan, etc. None of these units have broken up, thankfully.

Such pairings give WWE an extra team to work with in the tag team division and helps both the superstars restore some credibility for themselves. Aiden English went from being little more than enhancement talent and is now one half of the most over duo in the company.

We suggest 5 pairings that could elevate the tag team division to the next level, in addition to helping superstars struggling in the mid card.

#5: Finn Balor- Hideo Itami

I dig it
Now, this could be a very interesting unit

Finn Balor is one of the best examples of a high-potential talent struggling to find his feet in the singles division. He is yet to be booked a proper feud since his dull program with Wyatt ended abruptly in October.

Itami has got the worst possible reactions for a debuting superstar, with a wrestling crowd in Chicago, of all places, not reacting to him. Both of these men have tagged together back in NXT and also recently on RAW.

A tag team that consists of these two athletes can help bridge gap betweeen the main roster and 205 Live, while giving the thin RAW division a credible team.

Since both men are great workers, they can also have good matches with heel teams such as The Bar.

#4: Finn Balor- Bray Wyatt

A Demon and A God together?
A Demon and A God together?

A throwaway team of these two superstars can create magic in the RAW tag team division. Both of them have tremendous potential in the singles division, but the former WWE Champion and the first ever Universal Champion are floundering around with no purpose.

The self-proclaimed God and the Demon teaming together will be a weird sight, bringing back memories of when Kane and Daniel Bryan teamed up together.

Their feud never got a proper closure but a short run in the tag-team division followed by a culmination to their previous rivalry can be a decent option.

#3: Randy Orton- Bobby Roode

Could the Viper be on the wrong side of a tag team betrayal this time?
Could the Viper be on the wrong side of a tag team betrayal this time?

One of the most unexpected and weird listings, the Viper and the Glorious One teaming up together seems like a nonsensical thought, but hear me out! Randy Orton is supposedly taking some time off soon, which can be written into storylines in many different ways.

Both of these superstars are currently babyfaces and fans have been asking for a heel turn for not just one but both of these men. Both of these superstars have performed their best work as heels in their long careers.

A short stint as a tag team between these two leading to Roode turning heel on Orton, attacking and injuring him, thus keeping him out of WWE in kayfabe, could be a brilliant decision.

Orton returning during WM season and starting a feud with a heel Roode could be glorious! It would certainly help both men.

#2: Sami Zayn- Daniel Bryan

YES! YEP! YES! YEP!
YES! YEP! YES! YEP!

YEP? Daniel Bryan's potential return to the ring is one of the most talked about topics in the wrestling industry. His rivalry with Shane McMahon is seen by many as a prelude to his eventual return to the ring.

Daniel Bryan has been advocating his former indie colleagues, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for quite some time now. A singles return for Bryan could be difficult for WWE to pass, due to the various concussion lawsuits.

However, pairing him with Sami Zayn for a tag-team run to test the waters could not be a bad option, if doctors to clear him to wrestle. It would mean only taking half the number of bumps.

Daniel Bryan's return is still a far-fetched dream, but lets hope it becomes a reality soon.

#1: Brother Bray- Woken Matt

Could we see Wyatt have his own breakdown as well?
Could we see Wyatt suffer his own breakdown as well?

Surprised to see this pairing top the list? Bray Wyatt's gimmick of a cult leader has grown stale over the years, with his promos about him being a God becoming repetitive for many fans.

Matt Hardy's recent awakening has led to a beautiful character redemption arc. Wyatt has a chance to reinvent his character.

If Matt leads Bray Wyatt to such an awakening, resulting in these two outlandish characters teaming up, then WWE will definitely have made a brilliant and unexpected decision. Brother Nero is still on the shelf, so could we see Brother Bray step up?
