Yes, Dean Ambrose was a heel during his first run with The Shield. But since then, the crowd has become very invested in his character and he has remained a top babyface in the division. With his scary new look and ripped physique, it is possible that Ambrose could be on his way to a heel run.

Maybe after a few months, Dean Ambrose decides that it's time for him to go his own way, at long last. Unlike the two other members of The Shield, he does not hold any gold right now. In fact, unless he shifts to SmackDown Live, there is no solo title for him to chase, at this point in time.

Therefore, he could break up The Shield, thereby going heel. Following this, he could either go for the Universal or the Intercontinental Championship.
