5 ways to book Chris Jericho's WWE return

Jericho is hotter than ever, and his return absolutely needs to be booked just right
Jericho is hotter than ever, and his return needs to be booked just right

Can we have a round of applause for Chris Jericho? Not only did he redefine himself in his mid-40s for the best year of his WWE career in 2016-2017, he redefined himself again later the same year, going to NJPW and wrestling the best match of 2018, thus far.

Jericho is now a red-hot commodity. One may argue that he always was, right from the time he made his WWE debut in a segment with The Rock, during the height of the Monday Night Wars. While that may be true, he currently seems unstoppable and absolutely bulletproof!

WWE has the opportunity to capitalize on this momentum and make Jericho's return feel special. In this list, we shall discuss 5 ways they can do so!

As always, your comments are welcome...

#5 Temporary member of The Shield

Could Jericho step in as a replacement for Ambrose?
Could Jericho step in as a replacement for Ambrose?

The Shield reunited ahead of TLC, and the WWE Universe was all for the alliance. Unfortunately, a spate of ill fortune afflicted members of the trio, with Roman Reigns first suffering from a viral infection and missing the Hounds' comeback, and then, with Dean Ambrose suffering an elbow injury.

At present, The Shield has formed a makeshift alliance with Jason Jordan, but Jordan is not 'over' with the WWE Universe at all. We'll tell you who is over though: Chris Jericho.

Jericho could serve as the makeshift Shield member for a short while, considering Ambrose has been ruled out of action for nine whole months now. Jericho reinvents his persona like a chameleon, and we can totally imagine him rocking the riot gear with true panache.

He would also have a valid reason to attack The Club, as a member of The Shield. This is because Balor, Gallows and Anderson are cohorts of Kenny Omega's ilk from across the Pacific Ocean. The Shield and The Club would be a fantastic feud indeed. One with a good reason, to boot!

#4 Return at the Elimination Chamber

Jericho could really help sell tickets, at this event
Jericho could really help sell tickets, at this event

There has been much speculation about The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Some have said that Big Cass is on his way back for the event. Others have said that Brock Lesnar is likely to miss the pay-per-view. All said and done, this could be the perfect stage for Chris Jericho to return.

Bear in mind that Jericho's band, Fozzy, is playing shows on the night of the Royal Rumble and also, on the same night as WrestleMania. Jericho is likely to miss both these events. However, they are not playing on February 25th, which is the night of Elimination Chamber.

Jericho could have a short program leading up to the pay-per-view as well. Whatever the case may be, his return will certainly be red-hot!

As Jericho has said several times already, he only returns to WWE these days for short stints with the full-time roster.

#3 Feud with Woken Matt Hardy

This could be a great final chapter for both men!
This could be a great final chapter for both men!

Long-time sports entertainment fans have seen Matt Hardy vs. Chris Jericho several times. The truth is, never have we seen them wrestle in their new avatars.

Through 2016, the two hottest topics in wrestling were 'Broken' Matt Hardy in TNA and Chris Jericho's list. Unfortunately, both men were in different promotions, at that time and nobody got to see this dream clash. This time, they have a chance to witness this epic encounter.

Let's be honest, even if their matches aren't good...can you imagine the banter between the two men? The verbal exchange will be quite special indeed.

Also, age is just a number to both these men. Their matches are quite likely to be good. In fact, they may even be quite exceptional.

#2 Attacking Reigns on the night after WrestleMania 34

Will the WWE Universe get to drink it all in?
Will the WWE Universe get to drink it all in, man?

Fozzy is playing a show on the same night as WrestleMania 34. Their next show, however, is two weeks from that day. Could this allow Jericho to make an appearance after WrestleMania? He could commence a new feud, and let the anticipation build.

Jericho would not need to appear on a weekly basis, for this brand new feud. He could attack the brand new Universal Champion that is crowned at WrestleMania 34. Let's assume it is Roman Reigns for the sake of this argument.

Jericho could attack Reigns after WrestleMania and then disappear for a while before he returns to challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship. Jericho is a master of using social media to promote a feud and doesn't necessarily need to be on the ground to carry the program out.

#1 The new leader of The Revival

The Club better watch out!
The Club better watch out!

You may think that we're off our rocker with this suggestion. But just hear us out. You'll see that we're not far off the mark. Jericho could lead The Revival, into great clashes with The Club.

We saw Gallows, Anderson and Balor unite on RAW recently. Unfortunately for them, they have no credible opponents at the time being. With Ambrose on the shelf, even The Shield is ruled out.

The Revival made their return from injury recently, but it's becoming more and more likely that Creative may not have anything for them. When the 'charm' of their return wears out, we propose that they can be aligned with Jericho.

After all, Jericho has a problem with Omega and The Revival have a problem with The Young Bucks. The closest WWE equivalent happens to be the newly formed Balor Club. This feud could certainly be 'too sweet'!
