5 ways WWE can swerve the fans at the Royal Rumble

Let's Rumble
Let's Rumble

The Royal Rumble is slated to take place next week on Sunday, and some matches happen to have a predictable outcome. With Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins considered as the fan favorites to win the Royal Rumble match, the results of the most anticipated matches are seemingly already available to the public.

With the new era already in full effect in the WWE, and with various aspects of the Attitude Era seemingly making a comeback, it is a possibility that some amazing things may happen in the WWE. If you remember, Stone Cold Steve Austin helped Vince McMahon become the World Champion during 16th September 1999 episode of Smackdown, and many such swerves happened during the 90's. It is a possibility that the company may do something unexpected to raise the TV ratings during and after Royal Rumble.

So without further ado, let's take a look at 5 swerves that can happen at the Royal Rumble:

#1 Becky Lynch costs Ronda Rousey the Raw Women's Championship

Lasskicked!
Lasskicked!

While a lot of us are expecting a match between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania, but wouldn't it be great if we see a match between four horsewomen at the Grandest Stage of Them All? Shayna Baszler is on NXT as their Women's Champion while Ronda Rousey dominates Raw women's division, and while all four WWE horsewomen are on the main roster, the same can't be said about MMA horsewomen.

It would be a great idea if Becky Lynch costs Ronda Rousey her title match, and then 'The Queen of Spades' comes out to even the odds when 'The Queen' decides to pay a visit. A match between these four performers will be a great idea, and if the other two members of both divisions of horsewomen could also join in, the excitement level will be off the roof.

#2 Seth Rollins doesn't win the Royal Rumble

Work it down!
Work it down!

Another unpopular yet effective way would be to go against the popular decision and make Seth Rollins lose the Rumble match. There have been speculations that The Architect will win the match, but what if he loses it and then challenges the winner of the match for an opportunity at Wrestlemania?

With Brock Lesnar's eyes set on the grandest stage, he would come out and destroy the winner of the Royal Rumble match, Drew McIntyre, and The Kingslayer, only to make his match a triple threat one for the coveted Universal Championship at the Shows of Shows.

This would be a good idea considering the fact that Drew McIntyre is on a roll, and Brock Lesnar would lose his title after fighting with two talented individuals. As Brock's humble advocate would say, 'This would definitely be a box-office attraction match for all at Wrestlemania,' and we can't question that statement.

#3 Lars Sullivan costs Finn Balor his opportunity

Time to step up!
Time to step up!

Lars Sullivan is a monster, and since the announcement of his switching brands from yellow to red or blue came out, the world has been anticipating his debut on the main roster, but he hasn't been seen on the roster as yet. On the other hand, the wrestlers that were a part of the main roster call up have already been showcased in some way on TV.

It is still unclear where the monster will show up, but with the Royal Rumble a week away, there is no better time and place than this show. With his friend Braun Strowman already out of action, and Finn Balor taking his place in the match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, it would be a great idea to see Lars come to the ring and destroy his former friend only to set up a match between the two at Wrestlemania.

#4 Cesaro turns on Sheamus

Superman power

Cesaro and Sheamus came together after Mick Foley asked them to unite as one and be a great tag team. I believe that Cesaro has the potential, and so would you if you have seen him in the ring during singles competition.

As a performer, he has showcased great potential, but his efficiency isn't getting utilized as a tag team. He can go into singles competition, and to do that he would have to turn on his friend and tag team partner Sheamus during their match at the Royal Rumble, and lose the titles.

With no titles in pursuit, the two can showcase their skills well, and in my estimation, this would be a great idea for both performers. They have the skills and can be a threat to any competition, so why not give them the opportunity that they so rightfully deserve?

#5 Asuka turns heel

Heel is business
Heel is business

Do you remember Asuka from her NXT days? The wrestler was a heel but was loved for her work inside the ring. A feud with Ember Moon really made the character and the storyline better because while Ember would play a babyface, Asuka would play heel to perfection.

She has not been effective over the last year until she got her hands on the Smackdown Women's title, but it looks like she is still not convincing as a babyface champion. It would be a great idea to turn her heel as she can explore more options in this state of her character and be relevant as well. A feud with top babyfaces like Naomi and others will not only help them rise but also give her an opportunity to bring out the best out of them.

Do you think something else should happen? Sound off in the comments.
