5 ways WWE could book John Cena following WrestleMania

John Cena baited The Undertaker for weeks heading into WrestleMania, but their match still wasn't confirmed until mid-way through the show when Cena heard that The Deadman was in the building and then went on to overcome Elias before Undertaker finally made his presence known.

Cena had asked for this match, but Undertaker was in unstoppable form and managed to brush his challenger aside quickly, which has left the 16-time World Champion with an unclear future now that he has become just another victim on The Deadman's lengthy WrestleMania tally.

#5. John Cena vs Roman Reigns rehashed

John Cena was defeated by The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34, in a match that could have allowed him to become the first person since Roman Reigns to defeat both Triple H and The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Both Cena and Reigns were defeated at last night's show and it seems that both men could be part of redemption stories now, with Brock Lesnar rumored to be moving onto a feud with Bobby Lashley in the near future. Reigns pushed for his match with Lesnar so much that it seems he has nothing left to turn to, which could put him in the sights of Cena in the coming weeks as the two men look upon each other to kick-start their careers after devastating losses.

#4. Samoa Joe vs. John Cena

Samoa Joe was rumored to be entering a feud with John Cena and one of the ways that this feud could finally get underway would be if Cena shows up on RAW tonight and challenges The Undertaker to another match, but instead, it's Samoa Joe who makes his return and puts Cena in his place.

Joe and Cena's careers have run side by side over the past few years with Cena becoming the face of WWE and Joe making waves in TNA. This would be one of the showdowns that the WWE Universe have been waiting for and it would establish Joe as "the right hand of destruction" that he once was.

#3. John Cena disappears

Over the past few years, John Cena has prided himself on the fact that he's one of the faces of the company and his ego could have been one of the reasons why he decided to challenge The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Cena has now had his ego cut down to size with the defeat to The Undertaker and with so many projects coming up for the 16-time Champion outside of the wrestling business, it could be interesting to see if Cena disappears from WWE and isn't heard from for a number of weeks as he reevaluates his future after such a damaging defeat.

#2. Feud with Elias

John Cena could claim that he wasn't fully prepared for the match because Elias came out and surprised him when he called out The Undertaker. It would be interesting to see if Cena blames Elias for the fact that he was defeated last night and this could then open up a feud between The Drifter and John Cena moving forward.

It's something that has been teased in the last few months, but it would be interesting to see how much Elias could learn from Cena through a feud that could then lead to something much bigger.

#1. Career vs. Career

John Cena's feud with The Undertaker may not be over
John Cena's feud with The Undertaker may not be over

Many fans were certain that Cena would hand Undertaker his final WrestleMania loss and The Deadman would then walk out of the building where his streak ended back in 2014 for the final time.

It seems that this wasn't the case since Undertaker picked up the win over Cena, but this could now play a role in a much bigger storyline. Cena has lost the match that he billed as a fantasy and it seems that much like The Rock back at WrestleMania 29, the former 16-time World Champion will not go down without a fight.

Cena should appear on RAW either tonight or in a few weeks' time and call out The Undertaker again; when Undertaker refuses and tells him that he doesn't need to beat him again Cena can put up his WWE career and claim that he doesn't want to stay in WWE if he can't beat The Deadman. This is a challenge even Undertaker cannot resist and could allow a build up to either SummerSlam or WrestleMania 35 where Cena cheats to win, retires The Undertaker and then finally turns heel.
