Who will be negatively affected if Brock Lesnar leaves WWE?

Brock Lesnar,
Who will be negatively affected if Brock Lesnar leaves WWE?

Brock Lesnar is rumoured to be done with WWE after WrestleMania 34 and while the company could always sign a last minute deal the same way they did right before WrestleMania 31, it is becoming more and more likely that the Beast Incarnate will once again leave the squared circle for The Octagon.

Unfortunately for WWE, this means that they are in the midst of losing one of their biggest stars and arguably one of their biggest box office draws of the last decade. Whether WWE can rebound from something as devastating as that is up to them, but here are some of the parties who will be affected if Lesnar leaves the world's largest wrestling promotion.

#5 The fans

WWE Universe,
How will The WWE Universe react if Brock Lesnar leaves?

While Brock Lesnar might not be the most beloved superstar in WWE history, he still holds a very special place in the hearts of the fans. In fact, Lesnar is known to get huge reactions from the crowd when he does make his sporadically scheduled appearances, which is a pretty good indication of how much they appreciate the former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

The man popularized the term suplex city and along with his advocate, Paul Heyman, was able to run roughshod on WWE in ways that other stars couldn't. In the end, Lesnar gave WWE and its fans legitimacy in a way that no other superstar could and that is going to be a huge loss to the audience.

Of course, they can always see him in the octagon if they really want to, but it's not nearly the same thing!

#4 Braun Strowman

Bruan Strowman,
Will Braun Strowman get one more shot at Lesnar before he leaves?

Braun Strowman might be able to take over from Brock Lesnar as WWE's next dominant force, but it's not going to mean as much if he doesn't grab the torch from the Beast Incarnate.

If he doesn't even the scores with the University of Minnesota product, Strowman could be compromised as a character going forward, especially if WWE does decide to market him as the next big monster heel. And the fact that the former Wyatt Family member won't exactly have other monster heels to overcome will only serve to make things worse.

#3 The Universal title picture

Universal Title,
Who will claim The Universal Title picture with Brock Lesnar gone?

Good news and bad news, WWE Universe.

While the absence of Brock Lesnar from WWE will most likely result in other superstars getting a chance at the Universal Title, it will also leave a huge hole in the title picture that might not be as easy to fill as everyone thinks. In fact, Raw's top prize could even lose a lot of its prestige in the process.

While Lesnar hasn't exactly had the most exciting reign as a World Champion in WWE history, it's hard to argue that he didn't elevate the title in a way that others couldn't.

In the end, having Lesnar as champion created interesting matchups, wonderful David versus Goliath storylines and also resulted in some of the most believable decimations of other talents ever seen in professional wrestling.

#2 Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman,
Paul Heyman might be out of a job without Brock Lesnar by his side

Its no secret that Paul Heyman could quickly become an advocate for a different WWE superstar and rumours are starting to suggest that he could work with Roman Reigns if Lesnar does leave, but how successful will that pairing be?

Sure, Heyman can literally spit hot fire on a microphone and build up any match, but only if his client can back it up.

For example, WWE tried to make Ryback and Cesaro Paul Heyman guys at different points in their careers and both failed miserably from beginning to end. While that wasn't necessarily the fault of Heyman or either of those two Superstars, WWE seems to have a problem knowing what to do with any Paul Heyman guy that isn't Brock Lesnar or CM Punk.

With that being said and it becoming insanely obvious that there is a certain formula that WWE has perfected with Heyman and Lesnar, it is very doubtful that WWE can create the same kind of success with another superstar.

#1 The WWE

WWE,
WWE is going to need a new top heel with Brock Lesnar gone.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, Brock Lesnar's departure will leave a huge hole in the WWE for the foreseeable future. This is evident in both his mainstream appeal and ability to add his unique brand of legitimacy to matches and segments.

If nothing else, Lesnar is WWE's most realistic competitor and a larger then life figure that gives fans goosebumps every time his music hits. With everything he brings to the table and all the time that WWE has put into Brock Lesnar during his latest stint, it's going to be a huge loss if he does end up leaving the company.

Keep in mind that this is a man that will have headlined two of the last four WrestleMania's, ended the Streak at WrestleMania 30 and will have held the Universal Title for an entire year if he keeps it until Wrestlemania 34. That's nothing to scoff at and a huge hole WWE is going to have to fill moving forward.

What makes the situation even worse is the fact that while they spent so much of their time and energy building up Lesnar, they've neglected countless other stars who could have gone on to become fan favourites as well. Now, with Lesnar possibly leaving to return to The Octagon, what is WWE going to do with a bunch of unproven young stars?
