Why Brock Lesnar could retire from WWE after WrestleMania 34

Could The Big Dog put away The Beast for good?
Could The Big Dog put away The Beast for good?

Brock Lesnar was an integral part of the Ruthless Aggression Era of WWE, and unlike many Superstars from the time, his stock has only grown and not been diminished with the passage of time. A Superstar whose legacy spans across many sports, Lesnar is the personification of the phrase- 'Beast Incarnate'.

Lesnar is scheduled to defend his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34. In all likelihood, this match will go on last. And this could very well be Brock Lesnar's swansong.

There are multiple reasons why we believe this may just be the case. We will list them all for you, right now.

Let us know in the comments if you believe that The Beast has more fuel in the tank than we give him credit for!

#5 To focus on his UFC career

There are many big money fights waiting for Lesnar in UFC
There are many big money fights waiting for Lesnar in UFC

Brock Lesnar can still go to the octagon and make big money. Many fans have dreamed about a fight between him and Jon Jones for a while now. Considering the current Jon Jones situation, that doesn't seem to be a real likelihood. However, there are many big money bouts that he could still partake in.

Paul Heyman even alluded to Lesnar going to UFC, on the go-home RAW episode before WrestleMania 34. Lesnar could be done with WWE, after taking a pin from Roman Reigns and decide to go away for good. Very few would be surprised.

It is a well-known fact that Lesnar is perhaps, just a little more partial towards UFC than sports entertainment. Considering the controversy that followed the Mark Hunt fight, Lesnar has much to prove inside the dreaded octagon.

#4 No real love for the wrestling business

Brock Lesnar just wrestles for the paycheck

Mind you, if Lesnar does leave after WrestleMania 34, it won't be the first time he has done it. He did it in 2004 as well, when he left to pursue a career in football. Of course, Lesnar's football career did not pan out as well as his other pursuits have. We recommend that you check out this incredible article about his 2004 departure, by our writer Daniel Massey.

In any case, Lesnar has been very vocal about not liking the politics that go with the wrestling business. He's been very vocal about hating the travel schedule. The lighter schedule he currently works is a direct result of the very same.

Therefore, there would be no tinge of regret, if Lesnar were to walk away from WWE for good. We doubt he would look back and spill tears about a lost opportunity to entertain the WWE Universe.

#3 Viable replacement in Bobby Lashley

WWE may not want to deal with Lesnar, after Lashley's arrival

With Donald Trump as the President of the United States, Bobby Lashley's initial WWE run feels far more relevant in the year 2018. Much like Lesnar, he has a legitimate MMA background. Much like Lesnar, he is an absolute powerhouse who is incredibly quick. And unlike Lesnar, we doubt he will play hardball with WWE.

In Lashley, WWE has a legitimate star who wouldn't be opposed to a full-time contract, in all likelihood. WWE may have found a legitimate full-time replacement for Brock Lesnar.

#2 Widespread criticism of his last reign

Nobody wanted a part-time champion
Nobody wanted a part-time champion, as the face of RAW

The criticism for Brock Lesnar's initial reign was so widespread and so intense, that WWE actually incorporated it into their storylines. The fact that Lesnar is a part-time champion was brought up on more than one particular occasion. Fans were disgusted that the most important Superstar on RAW, would often miss RAW.

When Roman Reigns does win the Championship back from Lesnar, RAW will have a full-time champion at last. The question is if Lesnar will have a spot on the card if he's removed from the title picture. We doubt WWE will want a part time Universal Champion one more time.

Even while Roman Reigns is by no means the most beloved WWE Superstar, we feel fans are okay with the fact that he won't show up, smile and bounce around, while his advocate talks. Because of this criticism, Lesnar may want to step away from WWE.

#1 He's running out of opponents

How many times can they have Lesnar face the same pool of talent?
How many times can they have Lesnar face the same pool of talent?

Let's face it, guys. When Lesnar drops the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns, the only probable feud that we can think of is one with Lashley. There's nobody on SmackDown Live who seems like a legitimate competitor. There's nobody in NXT who seems ready.

And therefore, WrestleMania 34 may be the end of the road for "Beast Incarnate". We're certain that MMA fans will still see him inside the Octagon, entertaining his fans.

And that concludes this speculative article. What do you think Brock Lesnar's future will be, once his contract expires after WrestleMania?

Will he stay on with WWE or go away to the UFC for good?
