Eddie Guerrero was a late bloomer when it came to getting the recognition he deserved in WWE. Latino Heat plied his trade in WCW, and clearly Vince McMahon took a year or two to see his worth once he arrived in WWE.

Eventually though, Eddie became WWE Champion, by beating Brock Lesnar no less, and was on top of the world. It came just in time too, as later the following year, Guerrero would tragically and unexpectedly pass away.

Eddie's passing came just months before WrestleMania 22. Apparently, only a day or two before he died, Vince and co had just begun discussing a dream match between him and Shawn Michaels at the Show of Shows. What a spectacle that would have been.
