5 wrestlers Chris Jericho must face before he retires

Y2J is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

To say that Chris Jericho is a certain future Hall of Famer will be a gigantic understatement. He is, without any shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest performers to ever step inside the WWE ring. He has put on a plethora of 5-star bouts throughout his legendary career. Jericho is currently taking some time off from wrestling to focus on his duty as the lead singer of the band Fozzy but his return to the squared circle is imminent sooner rather than later.

At the age of 46, Chris Jericho can still give wrestler’s half his age a run for their money. He is probably in the best shape of his life. However, there is no denying the fact that age is not just a number and unfortunately Chris Jericho is in the twilight of his career.

Jericho isn’t a full-time wrestler anymore but whenever he returns to WWE, he steals the show and puts the younger guys over. It will be a heartbreaking day when the legend decides to hang his boots and call it a day but here are five wrestlers that Chris Jericho should fight with before that happens.

#1 Bobby Roode

Y2J should definitely cross paths with the glorious one soon.

Bobby Roode was a name known to each and every wrestling fan even before he made his way into WWE. He had a fabulous run in NXT and he took the NXT brand to even greater heights.

His move to Smackdown was welcomed with open arms by the WWE universe. Possibly a Canadian V/s Canadian feud with Chris Jericho will establish him as a main eventer for sure. Bobby Roode V/s Chris Jericho will be a glorious feud indeed.

#2 Shinsuke Nakamura

Y2J v/s Nakamura will surely be match of the year candidate

Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the most popular wrestlers in the world at the moment. He was a household name in Japan for over a decade and fans waited with bated breath for him to showcase his talents on the world stage.

The king of strong style finally made his NXT debut in the year 2016 and is one of the only two men to have won the coveted NXT Championship more than once. Nakamura going head to head with one of the greatest wrestler ever, Chris Jericho, will be every fan's dream come true. It is an instant classic in the making.

#3 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins v/s Jericho will be a 5-star match for sure

They have fought before but watching them wrestle again will be nothing short of a treat. The Shield is considered to be on par with NWO when it comes to the best stables of all times. However, Seth Rollins career took off the moment when he stabbed his brothers in arm with a steel chair. He has never looked back and has experienced a meteoric rise since then.

Seth’s matches with Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Triple H were some of the best matches produced by WWE in the last couple of years. However, Rollins is not only a technically sound wrestler but he also does high flying moves with ease.

Thus, when the inaugural NXT champ will go one on one with Chris Jericho, it will undoubtedly be a wrestling clinic and the result will be a match that one might never ever forget.

#4 Roman Reigns

Chris Jericho can assist in establishing Roman Reigns as a 'Wrestler'

Similar to the previous case, this will be another familiar battle. Roman Reigns is the most protected wrestler in WWE at the moment. WWE has done everything it could to establish him as the next face of the company but fans don’t seem to get behind him at all. Chants of “You can’t wrestle" can be heard during most of his bouts.

Reigns have been part of some immensely brutal matches for sure but he is yet to establish himself as a wrestler. Therefore, a feud with the maestro Chris Jericho is exactly what Reigns needs to establish him as a ‘Wrestler’ today. Y2J can certainly bring out the best in Reigns and it will be a match of epic proportions.

#5 Finn Balor

Enter
Their match will be a perfect cocktail of technical and high flying moves

Finn Balor is one of the most underutilized wrestlers in WWE at the moment. He was on his way to greatness after winning the Universal Championship at Summerslam last year but an untimely injury acted as a massive setback for the Demon King.

Balor is regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the company by both fans and the management and a feud with the master of submissions, Chris Jericho, will indeed help Balor gain the much-needed momentum. Jericho v/s Balor is not something that the fans merely want, it is what they need.

Many other potential feuds with the likes of AJ Styles, Randy Orton, John Cena, Samoa Joe, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Kevin Owens are a possibility as well. Hopefully, Chris Jericho will do one last long run with the company before riding into the sunset.
