Chris Jericho is the best in the world at what he does. He is, without any shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest of all times. A guaranteed future WWE Hall of Famer, he has been in the pro-wrestling business for over 20 years.

Known for his tenure in both WCW and WWE, Jericho has headlined multiple pay-per-view events during his time. Jericho is a record nine-time Intercontinental Champion and a six-time World Champion in WWE. He has proved to be one of the best all-around performers in the business.

Chris Jericho is 47 years old now. He can still give wrestlers half their age, a run for their money. However, owing to his part-time status due to obligations with his music band, Fozzy, Jericho might be ready to hang up his wrestling boots.

It will be a heartbreaking day when the legend decides to retire and put younger talent over him.

Here are 5 wrestlers who can retire Chris Jericho:

#5 Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler and Jericho have had many matches

Dolph Ziggler is one of the most technically gifted wrestlers in the world. His journey in WWE has been full of ups and downs. Not having the best run currently, he has been putting other wrestlers over and has become stagnant in his character.

The guy who was destined to be a top star years ago is lost in the mid-tier status. Ziggler isn’t nearly as over as he was years ago, and to regain his position as 'The Showoff', he needs a significant push.

Ziggler and Jericho have had many great matches. Their feud was one of the high points of 2012-13. Maybe, the creative team can book Ziggler for one more match against Y2J to cement his ranking as the main-event guy he was bound to be, and retire Jericho.

#4 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe was already a huge name in the pro-wrestling business before coming to WWE. He joined the Raw roster last year, much to the fans' delight. He had noteworthy feuds with Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. However, before WWE could book him to become a monstrous heel, he suffered an injury.

Joe faced Jericho twice last year winning both the matches. To set him up as the Destroyer that he is, Joe needs an immense push. Both wrestlers are known for their decisive submission moves.

Who wouldn't like to see Coquina Clutch vs The Walls of Jericho? Joe retiring Jericho will definitely be a monumental victory for the former and, will take him to the top of the company.

#3 Randy Orton

It is hard to imagine that, despite both Randy Orton and Chris Jericho have been in the WWE together for over 10 years, they never had a high profile rivalry with each other. They did share the same ring various times at PPVs like Elimination Chamber, and Survivor Series. A feud between two of the most popular WWE Superstars would have been great to watch.

Orton has just been around for so long and done everything there is to do. He's become a Grand Slam Champion recently. Orton needs to change his gimmick to avoid becoming stale. His most popular persona was that of the 'Legend Killer'. Maybe we get to see one more 'Legend vs Legend Killer' match where The Apex Predator retires The Lionheart.

#2 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens' feud with Chris Jericho was the highlight of 2016-17. The alliance with Jericho made KO the foremost villain in the WWE. Later, Owens turned on Jericho and viciously attacked him turning Jericho into a face. The rivalry culminated at WrestleMania 33 with Owens winning the United States Championship.

Kevin Owens is arguably the biggest heel in WWE today. He gets booed everytime he steps into the ring and draws real heat from the fans. To garner even more monster heat, Owens could be the man to retire Jericho.

Owens just being 33, could be the future of the company. What better way to set him up than by retiring one of the greatest of all times.

#1 The Miz

Who is the better IC Champion?

Chris Jericho and The Miz have had a long-lasting rivalry. The Miz is an 8-time Intercontinental Champion, only one title reign away from Jericho. Pairing two of the best talkers in all of the WWE has always had gold written all over it.

They have had some memorable matches with each other. The verbal altercations they had will go on as one of the best of all times.

The Miz is the rightful successor to Chris Jericho. Great on the microphone, fancy suits, hosting similar talk shows in WWE, and being Grand Slam Champions, are some of the attributes that both the Superstars share.

A title vs career match for the IC Championship can see The A-Lister equalling the record, and retiring Y2J.
