#2 Becky Lynch disagreed with her original WWE name suggestion
Like many up-and-coming superstars, Becky Lynch was pitched a list of ring names during her early days in WWEโs NXT developmental system.
WWE officials told Lynch that they wanted her to have a name that was closely associated with her real name, Rebecca Quin. The former NXT star was happy with her new first name, Becky, but she was unsure of what her surname would be.

Speaking to Sports Illustratedโs Justin Barrasso, Lynch recalled how she rejected ideas to be called Madeleine or Robin Daly.
โI was like, โI didnโt even submit that [Madeleine], I donโt know how it got in there.โ It made me think of that TV show Madeleine. Anyway, I said no to that, and the other name that came back was Robin Daly. I actually did like that, but I thought it would be better to have a part of my own name in there, so Becky Lynch it was,โ Lynch said.
Becky Lynch is not the only superstar whose first name in WWE is the same, or similar to, their first name in real life. Austin White (Austin Theory) and Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens) are two of many superstars who changed their surname but kept their first name on-screen.
