5 WWE Legends who have never been the subject of backstage relationship rumours

Some Legends Have Managed To Avoid The Rumour Mill
Some legends have managed to avoid the rumour mill

Backstage relationship rumours have followed many WWE legends and Superstars around throughout their careers. Even the likes of John Cena and Batista have been part of their own backstage scandals over the years.

That being said, there are a number of WWE legends who have been able to avoid all of the rumours and backstage scandals throughout their career, but these were the ones who have rarely made the headlines and have either been happily married or always focused on their careers.

These are the legends who seem to avoid unwarranted attention but deserve to be recognised for their squeaky-clean reputations.

#5 The Rock

The Rock remains a role model for the millions and millions

"The People's Champion" was one of the biggest stars of WWE's Attitude Era when he followed in his father's footsteps to the top of the WWE ladder.

Despite becoming one of the best-known wrestlers in the world and a recognisable Hollywood star, The Rock has always remained grounded.

The Rock was dating Dany Garcia throughout his rookie year in WWE before the couple married in 1997. The Great One's first child was then born in 2001 before the duo announced their split in 2007. However, they ended things amicably and were able to remain friends.

The Rock has since moved on to date the daughter of Boston drummer Sib Hashian, Lauren, and the couple now also have a daughter together.

#4 Trish Stratus

Trish remained Loyal To Her Boyfriend Throughout Her Career

There is a reason why Trish Stratus is still considered to be one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time. Trish was put into a number of relationship storylines with the likes of Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy and at one point even The Rock whilst she was working for WWE.

Stratus was also put into a number of uncomfortable storylines with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon early in her career, but she was able to overcome this original stigma to later become a record-setting seven-time Women's Champion.

Stratus married her high school sweetheart and partner of 14 years, Ron Fisico, following her WWE retirement back in September 2006 after remaining loyal to him throughout her entire wrestling career.

The couple now has a son and a daughter together called Maximus and Madison, respectively.

#3 "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

Piper left behind an untouched legacy in WWE

Roddy Piper may have been one of the most controversial characters that wrestling ever created, but he was also a superstar who knew when to make news and how to keep his personal life private.

Roddy claimed legendary status in WWE many many years ago and his legacy is seen as one the greatest to be created by any wrestling superstar.

Roddy was never part of backstage relationship rumours because he married Kitty Jo Dittrich back in 1982 and the couple remained together for more than 30 years before Piper sadly passed away back in 2015.

Piper was part of an era in wrestling when the real news was all about what happened inside the ring, so he never felt a need to be part of backstage rumours in his day, when he was happy to go home to his wife and family after a hard day's work.

#2 Dusty Rhodes

Dusty Rhodes Was A Father Figure To The Next Generation
Dusty Rhodes was a father figure to the next generation

"The American Dream" was one of the most iconic WWE stars to ever step foot in a WWE ring, and later inspired a number of current WWE stars to lace up their wrestling boots.

Dusty was married to his second wife Michelle Rubio in 1978, and the couple were together for more than 30 years until his death in 2015. Rhodes was never a man who was caught up in scandals as he helped his sons Cody and Dustin to begin their career with the company. Both sons now continue their father's legacy in the wrestling world, with Dustin still employed by WWE and Cody remaining at the top of the Independent ladder.

The WWE Hall of Famer became a father figure for many WWE stars when he returned to the performance centre and helped to train the next generation of wrestlers. He was well-respected and continues to be sorely missed by the entire WWE Universe and WWE roster as a whole.

#1 Mick Foley

Mick Foley Is Deserving Of Legendary Status In WWE
Mick Foley is deserving of legendary status In WWE

Mick Foley is known as a "Hardcore Legend" in WWE and is best remembered for that incredible fall off Hell in a Cell back in 1998.

Mick Foley has been around the wrestling business for decades and recently returned to WWE TV as the General Manager of Monday Night Raw before he was forced to give up his position when it was revealed that he needed hip surgery.

Mick Foley has always been seen as a guardian and father figure by the women of WWE over the years because he has been happily married to Colette since 1992 and never thought about straying away from this.

Mick has an impeccable reputation backstage in WWE, and this could be the reason why WWE continues to invite the popular star back. His son Dewey also works for WWE as part of their creative team, so it seems that he set a good example to the next generation as well.
