WWE Live Event Results: Fairfax, Virginia (March 25th, 2018)

AJ
AJ Styles was back in action as WWE rolled through Fairfax

With WWE just two weeks away from their "season finale" in New Orleans, we're well and truly on the Road to WrestleMania. Well, the SmackDown brand rolled through Fairfax - with AJ Styles in action teaming up with The New Day, and Shinsuke Nakamura taking on Baron Corbin in singles action.

The Usos also took on the New Day, and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn invaded the arena too with many other Superstars featuring on a packed card, so here are the full results...

#1 Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal

In the build-up to their Triple Threat Match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania for the United States Championship, the two contenders went one-on-one to open the card in Fairfax.

In a highly competitive match, Bobby Roode defeated Jinder Mahal with the Glorious DDT, which you can see below.

#2 The Ascension and Sin Cara vs Mojo Rawley, Mike Kanellis and Primo Colon.

Well, this is what WWE Live events are great for. Six men who have struggled for TV time in recent weeks faced off in a six-man tag team match in Fairfax. This match was somewhat of a homecoming for Mojo Rawley who is from the state of Virginia and reportedly had some his friends and family in attendance.

Sadly, it wasn't a happy one as Rawley was on the losing side when Sin Cara pinned Primo Colon.

#3 The Usos vs The Bludgeon Bros

In the third match of the night, we had the Tag Team Champions face off against the team who have destroyed everything in sight, including The Usos, over the past few weeks.

You can see the full match below.

The Usos won this one, but it didn't look like much of a victory after the Bludgeon Brothers used the steel stairs to their advantage, causing the referee to call for the bell.

Next up was Byron Saxton... Yes, really. Saxton, also from Virginia, was in the ring promoting some WWE merchandise before being chased out of the ring by the recently fired Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Owens and Zayn ran to the ring from the crowd in street gear, with Owens grabbing a microphone and cutting a promo on Shane McMahon.

Shinsuke Nakamura’s music played and the pair fled back into the crowd.

#4 Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin

The Fairfax crowd were treated to something special when the Royal Rumble Winner Shinsuke Nakamura took on former United States Champion Baron Corbin.

Or, at least, Baron Corbin thought so.

And it should be noted that the crowd was actually quite hot for this one too.

A competitive match saw Nakamura win with his Kinshasa and pin Corbin for the three count.

#5 Tyler Breeze with Fandango vs Tye Dillinger

Well, this was an incredibly entertaining match, as you'd expect from these two with Fandango on the outside. Well... On the apron for the most part. You can see the full match below.

After a pretty even match that looked to be going Dillinger's way if anywhere, Breeze scored a roll up victory.

#6 Becky Lynch and Naomi vs Lana and Carmella with Natalya.

The WWE Universe were absolutely LOVING this match. I'm not sure if Byron Saxton was...

Ms Money in the Bank rolled into town with Lana to face Naomi and Becky Lynch.

You can see the full match below.

Becky Lynch managed to lock in the Dis-Arm-Her on Lana for the submission victory.

#7 AJ Styles and The New Day vs Rusev, Aiden English, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin

Well, talk about a stacked main event! WWE Champion AJ Styles returned to the ring to tea up with Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in what may be one of the most bizarre teams possible.

The strangest thing of all was that they teamed up on Rusev Day of all days!

Not many people can hang with The Phenomenal One in the ring, and Styles showed that even applied to dancing when he gave The New Day a run for their money!

Of course, Aiden English showed his moves when he took an extravagant bow, with Big E soon scaring him off...

Needless to say, this match was incredibly entertaining and laid to rest rumours of an AJ Styles injury ruling him out of WrestleMania - although The New Day weren't to be upstaged easily!

After a fun-filled match, AJ Styles and The New Day stood victorious after Styles pinned English off of a Phenomenal Forearm.
