This one is probably the most obvious one on this list but takes the top spot for a reason. Although Ric Flair has won more than 16 world titles during his career, the WWE's official number for the record is 16.

John Cena, the poster boy of WWE during the PG era is currently a sixteen-time World Champion and still has a few years of wrestling left in him. Thus it is entirely possible that the Cenation leader will climb the ladder and take the top spot for himself.

Cena's illustrious career has seen him clinch the WWE championship a record 13 times and the World Heavyweight Championship three times, meaning he needs just one more World Title victory to make the record his own.

However, due to his hectic Hollywood schedule, Cena now works part-time and has not been a part of any storylines since his Wrestlemania match against The Undertaker, meaning that we may have to wait a while to see him take top spot.
