Everyone loves a good rumour, right? Something to talk about over a water cooler.

In WWE, everything moves so fast. Not just the Superstars in the ring, but all the latest news and rumors that reach the public every single day.

With 2018 now behind us, everyone in WWE is looking to make a name for themselves in the new year. The Royal Rumble pay per view, which is just weeks away, is the perfect place to do just that, with Superstars quicky announcing their intentions to win either the men's or women's match.

And with a Universal Tite match already announced, the pay per view is shaping up to be can't-miss.

Here are five rumors from wrestling from this week that you really need to know.

Note: Please remember that every rumor presented here are just that, rumors, just to have fun with. Whilst some may seem more likely than others, please take all of them with a pinch of salt.

#5 Cancelled house show

The WWE holds hundreds of live events each year, as well as Televised events.
The WWE holds hundreds of live events each year, as well as Televised events.

This is a story that has really flown under the radar, but on January 28, the WWE won't be hosting their planned house show.

The live event, which was scheduled to take place in Tuscon, Arizona, has officially been cancelled, though the WWE hasn't given a reason why the show has been cut.

According to PWInsider though, the live event has reportedly been cancelled due to what they can only describe as "production issues."

Whilst this is certainly very vague, hopefully, those members of the WWE Universe will be able to get a chance to see their favourite Superstars live and in person very soon.

#4 The Architect's time has come?

Will Rollins finally get his shot at the Beast's Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35?
Will Rollins finally get his shot at the Beast's Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35?

It has been nearly three years since Seth Rollins last held championship gold, with his second reign as WWE Champion lasting mere minutes.

But Rollins could finally regain his spot on top of Monday Night RAW, as the report from the Wrestling Observer suggests that the Architect will win the men's Royal Rumble.

A solid favourite to win, Rollins is yet to win the 30-man match, which his Shield-brother Roman Reigns did in 2015, and Dean Ambrose being the last man eliminated the next year.

If victorious, the Kingslayer will meet Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania (another accolade Ambrose and Reigns share), and with Rollins being the most vocal Superstar against Lesnar's relaxed schedule, it seems the WWE are certainly hinting at a match between the two megastars this coming April.

#3 The Man to win the Women's Rumble

Already with a match booked, Lynch is predicted to do double duty.
Already with a match booked, Lynch is predicted to do double duty.

Another report by the Observer, and another one about the Royal Rumble.

This one will certainly make fans happy, as it reports that Becky Lynch will be winning the second ever Women's Rumble match.

Whilst Lynch already has a match set for the Rumble (her title rematch against SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka), it is possible that she could enter the 30-woman match.

If so, Lynch will get a huge babyface reaction from the crowd, which would only be extended if she was to win.

The rumor is that Lynch will be switching brands as Rumble winner, and will challenge RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey, whom she was supposed to face at Survivor Series.

Further reports have stated that WWE intends Rousey vs. Lynch to be the main event of WrestleMania 35.

#2 WWE + AEW = Good contracts!

The WWE has offered huge contracts to stars, to avoid them going to All Elite Wrestling
The WWE has offered huge contracts to stars, to avoid them going to All Elite Wrestling

Ever since All Elite Wrestling was announced, fans have been speculating where certain hot talents would end up.

Would indie stars go to AEW, or ROH, or perhaps New Japan, or maybe join the Mecca of Sports Entertainment that is WWE?

But according to the Observer, wrestlers are very pleased with AEW forming, as the WWE and other companies are getting more and more competitive to sign top-tier talent.

Therefore, it seems that wrestlers on the indie scene are being offered the very best contracts available to them, with several big names being snapped up recently.

This includes former WWE World Champion Chris Jericho, who has signed with AEW, as well as indie star WALTER, who made his WWE debut at their recent NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool event.

#1 Omega a no go for WWE

Many fans are expecting Omega to make his debut at the Royal Rumble.
Many fans are expecting Omega to make his debut at the Royal Rumble.

Kenny Omega has always been a popular star, but interest in the Canadian spiked recently after he revealed he would be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Instantly, fans began to speculate whether the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion would finally join WWE, or go to AEW, the new promotion set up by Cody and the Young Bucks.

Despite WWE reportedly offering him one of their best contracts, Omega has turned them down, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The same report from the Observer also suggested that Omega could be signing with All Elite Wrestling as soon as February 1.

If so, the WWE will definitely have lost out on a huge star, especially as Omega could have debuted at the Royal Rumble pay per view, just like AJ Styles three years ago.
