If WrestleMania main events were booked on in-ring talent alone, AJ Styles would currently be on course to headline “The Show of Shows” for the third successive year.

“The Phenomenal One” has been involved in two early-card WrestleMania matches so far in his WWE career – against Chris Jericho in 2016 and Shane McMahon in 2017 – while the chances of his WWE title match with Shinsuke Nakamura going on last at this year’s show are slim-to-none.

However, given the right storyline and opponent, nobody could deny that the current WWE champion would fully deserve a spot in the headline match at a future ‘Mania.
