When did Aleister Black suddenly move into a supporting role on WWE TV?

Aleister Black was once heralded as the next big thing in WWE and while he was the fans' favorite to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, that ultimately never materialized. Fast forward to present day and Black now finds himself as a side piece in the ongoing Seth Rollins versus Rey Mysterio saga, which is a huge departure from where he was a few weeks ago.

Now, getting to work alongside Rey Mysterio is a big honor for any Superstar on the WWE roster, but it honestly feels like a step back after the run that Black has been on. Black went from squashing opponent after opponent while earning key wins along the way, to losing a lot of his allure.

What happened to the "knock on my door" angle? What happened to him picking a fight with the biggest man on the roster and showing everyone just how tough he is? We still don't know what the future holds for Aleister Black but as of now, he's just helping The Master of the 619 against the Monday Night Messiah and his disciples.
