Like a lot of WWE tag team performers in 2020, The IIconics was one of the many victims of the apparent year of breakups in the company.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce gained popularity as The IIconics for many years in WWE, and the pair had been wrestling together since their teenage years back in Australia.

In 2019, The IIconics managed to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships in a Fatal Four-Way match. It was first and only title win of Peyton Royce's WWE career so far.

In a stipulation match on RAW in the summer, The IIconics were forced to split after losing to The Riott Squad. Then, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were split by the WWE Draft, with Royce on RAW and Kay on SmackDown.

Since Billie Kay moved to SmackDown, she has been entertaining fans with her resume gimmick. Meanwhile, Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans have been thrown together into a tag team. It was reported earlier in 2020 that Royce was due for a singles push, but this has not really materialized so far.

Towards the end of 2020, Peyton Royce has changed up her look by debuting a purple hairstyle and scored the first elimination in the Women's Survivor Series five-on-five match.

It would be great to see Peyton Royce refine a new gimmick in 2021. In 2020, her in-ring skills have improved vastly, and she is a charismatic performer who has great potential.
