Soon after, WWE legend John Cena sat down with Chris Van Vliet and revealed the texts he sent to Reigns after his announcement.

John Cena and Reigns engaged in a brief rivalry back in 2017, which culminated in a dream match at WWE No Mercy. Reigns emerged victorious in the match, in what seemed like a 'passing of the torch' moment.

On the road to WrestleMania 35, Reigns returned to WWE after his months-long battle with leukemia and has been a mainstay on the roster ever since. Reigns is currently WWE's Universal Champion on the SmackDown brand.
