Murphy found himself in a very difficult spot towards the end of 2019 on WWE RAW. He had not been able to stand out despite his best efforts and had lost to Aleister Black every time that he had faced him. Distraught at his seeming inability to break through, Murphy found himself converted to Seth Rollins' cause towards building a new WWE RAW when he was at his most vulnerable.

Murphy has been by Seth Rollins' side throughout his most difficult times and has often been the one to take the punishment from his opponents. Despite this, Murphy's faith in the Monday Night Messiah has not swayed at all.

However, on last week's RAW, the WWE Universe saw evidence of cracks in the relationship between Murphy and Seth Rollins. When Seth Rollins forced Murphy to assault Aleister Black and be the one to blind him, it was obvious that Murphy did not want blood on his hands. It appears that the strain of such a relationship with Rollins is finally showing on Murphy, and he may end up turning on him.

In such an instance, it would not take too much for Seth Rollins to assault his own disciple if he felt that Murphy was no longer an asset to his cause. In the end, Murphy might be the one to be blinded by the Monday Night Messiah.
