Triple H wasn't keeping it a secret that he regarded Rollins as the future of WWE, but it all changed on a fateful night when he betrayed Rollins and helped Kevin Owens become Universal Champion.

This kicked off a rivalry between Rollins and Triple H which culminated in a blockbuster match at WrestleMania 33. Rollins registered a victory over Triple H and that was it for this promising rivalry.

Triple H could make a return as a fan-favorite to exact revenge on Rollins. Over the course of the past few months, the WWE Universe turned on Rollins to the point that WWE had to turn him heel.
This reignited rivalry, with the roles changed, could certainly make for an intriguing presentation. This feud deserves another run before Triple H officially decides to hang up his boots and puts an end to his illustrious career.
