#2 Randy Orton and #1 Edge

As fun and out-of-the-box Randy Orton versus Edge was at WWE Backlash, it still felt like the company was relying on veterans and taking valuable screen time away from today's talent. Of course, one could argue that it's not an issue when it comes to the three-hour format of Monday Night Raw but think about the bigger picture for a second.
WWE spent week after week on Monday Night Raw trying to get fans to buy into this "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" hype. WWE even brought in Hall of Famers to weigh in on who would win. With that being said, however, it got to the point where it seemed like "Edge versus Orton" was all fans were supposed to care about.

From being billed as the "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" to getting the main event slot at Backlash, the match between Orton and Edge was supposed to be WWE's big box office draw. The problem here is that it was a missed opportunity for the company to establish one of its newly-minted Champions or do any number of more useful things.
In the end, Orton versus Edge was nothing short of legendary. Unfortunately for the rising stars on the roster, it was also something that took up a considerable amount of time that could have been used to feature them on a Pay-Per-View in some capacity.
