A former two-time NXT Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura has had a funny time since joining the main roster.
Joining SmackDown Live in 2017, Nakamura received a slow-push, before winning the 2018 Men's Royal Rumble match.
Failing to dethrone AJ Styles at WrestleMania was just the start of a rough year for the King of Strong Style, who would lose in subsequent rematches, and despite winning the United States Championship, his reign was often overlooked.
Perhaps Nakamura would be better treated outside of the WWE, as the 38-year-old is potentially looking at winding up his career, and would be a huge drawing asset in AEW.
The new promotion will certainly need all the huge stars it can muster, and having Nakamura on the card for their very first show would certainly draw in a crowd of loyal fans of the WWE's resident rockstar.
