The 31st annual Royal Rumble takes place this weekend and the show already boasts six matches, with the Cruiserweight Championship match recently being removed from the official card.

Right now there could be up to 74 superstars who are part of the show on Sunday night and there are a number of these WWE stars who desperately need a win on pay-per-view. Some of these stars have been on losing streaks on their respective shows as well, which means that there are many wrestlers who will desperately be seeking that win when they arrive in Philadelphia this weekend.

#5. Kane

Will Kane lift the Universal Championship for the first time on Sunday night?
Will Kane lift the Universal Championship for the first time on Sunday night?

Kane steps into one of the toughest challenges of his two-decade-long career in WWE this Sunday night when he battles Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar in a Triple Threat Match for the Universal Championship.

Kane is definitely considered the underdog in this match and the man that many think was only added to the match to take the pin so that Brock and Braun still look strong heading into WrestleMania. Kane hasn't won a match on a pay-per-view since the kickoff show at Survivor Series back in November when he was able to defeat Luke Harper.

Kane has been floating around the Raw roster for the past few months and even he admitted that he thinks this will be his last main event push as a WWE superstar. Will this be the fairytale ending for Kane on Sunday night?

#4 Chad Gable And Shelton Benjamin

Can Chad Gable become a two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion at The Rumble?
Can Chad Gable become a two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion at The Rumble?

Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin once again challenged The Usos for The SmackDown Tag Team Championships on Sunday night. The duo was put together after Jason Jordan was moved over to Monday Night Raw and revealed to be Kurt Angle's illegitimate son.

The makeshift team has since been trying to pick up where American Alpha left off but hasn't been anywhere near as successful. The duo last won a match on pay-per-view back at Hell in a Cell when they were able to defeat The Hype Bros, they weren't used on a number of shows last year and were defeated at Clash of Champions as they once again attempted to claim the titles in a fatal four-way match. Could 2018 finally be their year?

#3 Becky Lynch

It's time for Becky to make history once again at The Royal Rumble
It's time for Becky to make history once again at The Royal Rumble

Becky Lynch is one of the favourites to win the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match this weekend, but it seems that when it comes to pay-per-views even The Lasskicker doesn't have a fantastic record. Becky hasn't won a match on pay-per-view since Elimination Chamber back in February 2017, which means that Becky has gone almost a year without a win on pay-per-view.

She has been defeated at Backlash, Money in the Bank and even Survivor Series over the past year as well as taking a hiatus to film The Marine 6, but it seems that Becky is now teasing a heel turn and a feud between the first SmackDown Women's Champion and the current Champion who is Becky's friend Charlotte, could be enough to allow Lynch to win this one.

#2. Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura is one of the men the WWE Universe want to win The Royal Rumble
Nakamura is one of the men the WWE Universe want to win The Royal Rumble

The 2018 Royal Rumble match is completely unpredictable, but many of the WWE Universe have named Shinsuke Nakamura as their favourite to win the match and go on to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34.

Whilst this seems like a fantastic route for WWE to take, it seems that even Nakamura has a poor record of losses on pay-per-view building up to this weekend's match. The former NXT Champion has won just two matches at Backlash and Battleground since he was promoted to the main roster last year and has since been on a lengthy losing streak.

Nakamura lost to Jinder Mahal at both SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell when he was in the hunt for the WWE Championship, before he was the first match eliminated from the traditional match at Survivor Series and teamed up with Randy Orton in a losing effort at Clash of Champions. Could it finally be time for a change of direction for Nakamura?

#1. Cesaro and Sheamus

Can Cesaro and Sheamus reclaim their Championships this weekend?
Can Cesaro and Sheamus reclaim their Championships this weekend?

Cesaro and Sheamus have been seen as one of the best tag teams on the Raw roster over ever since Mick Foley put them together back in 2016, but it seems that the duo hasn't had a fantastic 2017 on pay-per-view. The hard-hitting team haven't won a match since Great Balls Of Fire back in July when they defeated The Hardy Boyz in an Ironman tag team match.

The duo has since been defeated by Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam and again at No Mercy before they joined The Miztourage and lost their match at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs when Kurt Angle joined The Shield in place of Roman Reigns. Most recently Cesaro a lost their bragging rights tag team match to The Usos at Survivor Series and their Tag Team Championships to Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins on Christmas Day, can they reclaim their titles and end this terrible streak on Sunday night?
