There were many a tear shed when Daniel Bryan finally announced that he had been medically cleared to compete in WWE, but no one could have envisioned how good he would be when he stepped back into the ring.
It's almost been a fairy tale year for Daniel Bryan. Getting back to doing what he really loves to do, and then to top it all off - becoming the WWE Champion.
It just doesn't seem like he ever skipped a beat, he's still as good as he was earlier, and with his new gimmick of the "New" Daniel Bryan, he has taken everything up a notch.
He has succeeded AJ Styles as the WWE Champion in every way because he's doing pretty much what AJ Styles had done for more than a year, i.e. carry the SmackDown brand on his shoulders.
The new Daniel Bryan is amazing, and when he looks back in life - 2018 would hold a special mention among other things.
