A lengthy WWE title that saw him become the longest reigning world champion on SmackDown, AJ Styles title reign was marred by a couple of screwy finishes. But the Phenomenal One has carried the most prestigious title in the wrestling business with pride and has had some of the best WWE matches of 2018. While his feud against Shinsuke Nakamura was a bit underwhelming, the duo did eventually end the feud on a high note with their match at Money in the Bank.

Styles would then have one of the most intense and personal rivalries of the year against Samoa Joe and although fans felt that Joe was eventually going to beat Styles for the title, Styles prevailed and successfully defended his title in multiple high-voltage encounters against the Submission Machine.

2018 has been yet another great year for the Georgia- native who has become one of the most valuable assets for his company in a very short period of time. From having a lengthy title run to being the cover star of WWE 2K 19, the Phenomenal one has been everywhere in 2018.
