For a large part of the 90s until his departure from WWE, Bret Hart was the face of the company, a beloved babyface who wowed fans with his great work in the ring. Hart won numerous singles and tag team titles with WWE, including winning the WWE Championship five times.

His last and final run with the WWE Championship ended in 1997 when he lost to Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series, now infamously known as the Montreal Screwjob.

The Hitman was a part of the Hart wrestling family, who have had several wrestlers in WWE over the years. Bret Hart's brother, Owen Hart, was also a part of WWE and was highly regarded for his phenomenal in-ring work.

Hart sadly died in 1999 after falling from a height at the Over the Edge pay-per-view event. Unlike his brother Bret, he did not win any World Titles but won the Intercontinental and European titles, as well as multiple tag team title reigns. But, many believe that he was destined to be a World Champion if he hadn't passed away.
