Born into a broken home, Roberts would be abused by his father, and would develop severe drinking and drug problems that would only be magnified by the toll that wrestling took on his body.

Despite this, Roberts was one of WWE's biggest stars for years, before leaving the company in 1992.
His arguable rock bottom did not come in WWE, but instead at a Heroes of Wrestling event, where the former star slurred his words and was a danger in the ring.
After years of failed rehab, Roberts finally turned his life around with the help of Diamond Dallas Page, moving into DDP's home and getting sober.
In 2014, Roberts took his rightful place in the Hall of Fame, a sober and happy man.
