Before returning to WWE in 2016 alongside his Bullet Club tag team partner Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows was with the company from 2005 to 2010 and his most noteworthy work was alongside CM Punk as a part of the Straight Edge Society.

During an episode of SmackDown in June 2010, the Straight Edge Superstar took a shot at The Undertaker by saying that the entire WWE structure was so much better without The Undertaker.

Immediately following this, the lights in the arena went off, typically in the way The Deadman arrives. When the lights came on, The Undertaker was standing in the ring with a shocked Punk looking at him. Well, as revealed a few seconds later by Punk himself, that man in the ring was not the Phenom but Luke Gallows dressed as him.

This took place a couple of nights before the Fatal-4-Way PPV which saw Rey Mysterio win his second World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Punk, Big Show and Jack Swagger. The Undertaker was supposed to be in the match but was then later removed as part of a storyline and Mysterio went on to replace him and won the title.
