Bursting onto the scene the night after WrestleMania X8, Brock Lesnar was constantly touted as 'the next big thing'.

Upon his way to winning the WWE Undisputed Championship at Summerslam 2002, the hungry rookie crushed all in his path, including the legendary Huk Hogan.

Before Summerslam though, Lesnar would win the King of the Ring tournament and was supposed to qualify for the historic contest, by defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin. Unfortunately, Austin's ego would get the better of him, and after refusing to lose to Lesnar, the Bionic Redneck walked out on the company in shocking fashion.

However, Austin did state in later interviews that his issue itself wasn't putting over Lesnar, but he felt that putting him over on a throwaway episode of RAW just wouldn't do.

Returning in February 2003, Austin's would have a handful of matches before retiring officially at WrestleMania 19, with this final part of his career being sadly sullied by his departure from the WWE.
