This is a long shot and the magnitude of the word ‘long’ cannot be stressed enough. We are well-aware about the WWE – Chris Benoit situation and this is one of the factors that will work against David Benoit showing up in WWE. At one point, there were news about David training to become a professional wrestler and he was even slated to make his professional debut alongside Chavo Guerrero at Hart Legacy Wrestling in Calgary.
According to Dave Meltzer, the same was called off due to David’s lack of training. Dave, however, is open to a move to WWE and he also said that WWE might be open about using the Benoit name.
“For all you dirtsheets out there and all you fans, it was at a show in Edmonton, two years ago, I sat down in the production office, talking to one of the writers, they said ‘Yup, we’ll use the Benoit name again. We could do a lot with it.’ There’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,” he said.
