Carmella retained her Championship at Backlash — Carmella retained her Women's Championship at Backlash

Charlotte's attempt to reclaim her SmackDown Women's Championship began with a big boot to Carmella as she tried to recreate the "Styling and Profiling" ways of Ric Flair. The issue with this impactful beginning to the match is that Flair completely missed the kick.

Carmella fell backward and took the bump before Charlotte had made contact with her, this was reminiscent of the botch from John Cena in his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
